Jeff Green best game defensively by far. He was locked in the whole game. Doc finally played at PF. I think his familiarity at the 4 boosted his confidence.

I like that he logged a lot of minutes with the starters.  Jeff Green as your 4th or 5th option offensively is going to be very good.  When he needs to create for himself it just doesnt happen.  I really enjoyed watching Green play tonight though.  He beats his man up the floor every time.  The guy straight out flies.
do it

Tremendous impact doing things not in the stat sheet - defending, stretching the floor, deflections.

That's what we got Jeff Green to do. Need it EVERY nigh.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Green played D with great energy and really bought into the system...it looks like he's learning to trust that the other guys will get his back so he can play more aggressively. I mean, he made Bosh, LeBron, and Jones work hard when he covered them. If this is the Jeff Green we see for the rest of the playoffs, we're going to be much more dangerous.

Green keeps playing like this we can be unstoppable. He should be our closer too, he is exactly what you need at the end of the game when he is playing defense. You guys see how FAST he REALLY is? Being at the game, it literally looks like he could beat usain bolt.

I've been saying it for the longest, but I knew JG would come around. This is just the beginning though.

He had all the intangibles going tonight, once Doc figures out how to use him offensively (post ups, anyone? Cuts to the basket, perhaps?) he'll be an important weapon for us.

We basically need to sit Green down with a tape of Posey in the 08 playoffs and say "we need you to be that guy, but more diverse offensively.  Don't worry about numbers, just attack the ball on D, play aggressive on O, and make the little plays for us.  Oh yeah, and scowl at a dude once or twice a game while you're at it."

If he can fulfill that role, we become really, really dangerous.

A couple times Green had James Jones and Chalmers on him and didn't get the ball in the post.

He is a very difficult guy to cover in the post.

If he plays with that intensity every night, then he is the best bench guy in this series.  Ironically, it took Rondo's injury and subsequent return to bring it out of him....

Reinforces to me that the problems with the Celtics are mental. Something flicked with Green and the Celtics after HT tonight. Let's hope that bodes well for Monday's game and the Celtics can head to Miami with some momentum.

He hustled and played defense, and he made his presence felt.  I liked his effort tonight.

I agree with this. And, Doc took him out exactly at the right time, after a turnover and a bad airball three. It was only 6 or 7 minutes, but this was the best Jeff Green has played since being here.

I posted this in a discussion I was having on facebook during the game - pretty much echo's what most are saying here...

On Green and Lrstic not having enough "swag" to play for the C's "it is not so much swag but effort evevn if your confidence is low dive for some balls, crash the boards play some D at least"

On the trade... "the problem was also that the rest of the C's started complaining and sulking even guys like Big Baby Davis was acting like some sort of star who needed to be appeased. That was a good Trade Jeff Green is just used to being the 2nd or third choice option, he is a better player than Perkins and the Celtics also got a first round pick"

My friend then said that chemistry issue was why the trade was bad but I responded that the chemistry issue is temporary.

The rest of the guys will see the hustle and trust Green more a game like last night will do wonders for chemistry as a shared experience. Green might just have become one of the guys or brothers as KG would put it. That's important, the big 4, JO and Davis will stop trying to win games on their own.

Green might finally get it in terms of hustle but more importantly the team may be begging to get it again in terms of Ubuntu and trusting each other including the new guys.

I like how you put it mate. TP. I think a game like this builds chemistry/cameraderie. Who wouldn't be inspired by a team mate coming back from such an injury - and from your emotional leaders responding in such an aggressive manner.

If they build on this then I'd be pretty confident.

Celtics basketball....
