I'm curious as to if we threw in Davis in the Perk trade we might have been able to grab Ibaka or Harden.

Might have been able to keep Perk and rent Shane Battier if Ainge had been willing to toss Davis plus the 2013 first round pick plus Avery Bradley to Houston.

Holy cow, look how fat and out of shape he's got in a contract year!

I think last year may have been his peak, unfortunately.

If Jackie McMullen is right and he has added 15 pounds during this season, we are not going to see the Glen Davis of old. He likely will be playing elsewhere next year.

Quick Question - didn't his contract have weight clauses in it?  I'm not sure what the conditions were, but I'd hope "gaining 15 lbs during the season" would trigger something adverse to his pay.  This seems to be his primary motivator, $$ (which is ok by me).

If I was Ainge no way I'd do that trade. Bradley has some promise, we'll need the 2013 pick for rebuilding, and consider our shortage of big men I would've rather had an Anthony Parker type backing up Paul in addition to Davis, rather than having Battier and no Davis

If by "Glen Davis of old" you mean the one that was the 5th big then absolutely.

Even as the 4th big man he's decent, but he needs to be with an inside presence who will rebound and stay in paint so Baby can play the perimeter (not Sheed).

As first big off the bench he just isn't adequate.   Hopefully he can have a few games and contribute something but that's all we can wish for.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

More proof that Davis is killing us : "With J. O'Neal & KG on the court, the Heat have shot 21-for-59 (36%). With Baby & KG on the court, they've shot 25-for-42 (60%)."

10 minutes from Shaq, 38 from JO--and we're okay.

I thought I'd read something about that, but I also imagine it kicking in would be confidential unless BBD himself blabbed.  Maybe after he walks or is s&t'd Danny'll talk.
