Hey Guys I have a GREAT IDEA!!!
Let's trade our starting center because 39 year old Shaq is playing well, no way he can get injured!!! YEAHH!!!! This is the best idea since Hitler invading Russia.
Do we really want to compare a basketball game with Hitler?!
Not really no lol. Was just a joke, it's just that the position the Celtics are in right now is very frustrating to say the least.
I originally liked the trade, especially when Kristic was overperforming and I thought Jeff Green just needed time to fit into the system. But banking on Shaq to be healthy was really not a good move in retrospect, which is a shame because he was pretty darn good when he played.
I would argue that Danny was banking on Shaq
OR JO to get healthy feeling that while both might not return, one of them should and that one would produce as well as Perkins did in the playoffs. I have watched enough of OKC to say that Perkins is playing okay, but not great. He is not in great shape and so isn't getting down the floor as well. Next year he will be fine, but next year he wouldn't be on our squad anyway.
The biggest problem I see is that Doc is giving JO about 10 minutes too little, and BBD about 10 minutes too many. If this weren't the case I am not sure we'd be having this discussion. Green is playing better in stretches and next year will be an even more important piece of the puzzle.
