Yeah it may sound obvious but I think we are giving up looks to Wade and Lebron that I think Doc is comfortable with giving up.

Lebron and Wade are not good outside shooters but they seem to be hitting these long two's and 3's. I don't mind letting Lebron post up every time either as he is so awkward and does not have a good rhythm when he is on the block. Unfortunately it seems like those shots are going in too.

I'm thinking and hoping that these guys will cool off a little bit. From the press conference it doesn't sound like Doc is going to change up much with them either. This is their gameplan and I don't see what else we can do.

We tied them in fast break points, points in the paint, we limited our turnovers. It seems like we are doing a lot of stuff we need to do but when those guys are making those shots what can we do?

It's like when Pierce and Ray can't miss, there's no real way of stopping our team either.

I'm just hoping that maybe a hostile arena that neither of them have fared well in the last few years could help us out a lot.

We just need to get this next win and it will get Miami thinking just a bit more

The way Wade and James are hitting from all over the court, no team is going to beat Miami. Chicago and LA would look a lot like Boston does now.

It frustratingly amazing to watch.

I agree.

I thought the D was good last night.

The shots that hurt:
1) Chalmers 3 with the score tied 80-80 after the Celts played good D (shot clock was down). It was the only shot he made.
2) Lebron's back to back 3's in the 3rd quarter after the Celts took the lead. Both were shots we will give him all series.
3) Lebron dunk +1 (83-80 Heat lead pushed to 86-80) after the Celts played good D to force a bad shot and Baby fumbled the rebound enough for Anthony to tap it to Lebron
4) Bibby's 28 foot desparation 3 (2nd quarter, I think)
5) Mike Miller's only shot of the game, a 3 that barely went in.

That's 18 points they got despite very good D. Give them credit for making them but everything is bouncing right for them. Those are shots that don't happen 9 times out of 10.
Only the fumble by Baby on Lebron's dunk can be attributed to something the Celts could have prevented.

Ok good so it's not just me

Also it looked like 3 of Pierce's 3's (not sure how many he took for the game) went in and out. That was frustrating. Sometimes it can be little things like this that just sway the game entirely and people forget that if those 3's go and Bibby and Miller miss those then we would win by 7.

I wouldn't get so down on us at this point. Miami has been playing about as good as they can against our defense and we have actually been playing pretty well defensively.

I still trust our team in a 7 game series to make more shots against a good defense than I do Miami. We still have lots of weapons. They haven't been working out so far but Miami absolutely need Wade and Lebron to be ridiculous every night and good for them if they are able to maintain that.

I'll tell you this though if they can manage to do that against us for a whole series I can't see it continuing for 2 more rounds as well

I agree 100%. Last night in the 3rd LeBron took like 90% of his shots from midrange or 3 point land. I was fine with that even when he was wide open because we can live with him taking these shots... except when he is drilling them like he did last night. History/logic tells it shouldn't happen again but I thought the same thing for Wade and he did it again so...

the thing is, can wade/lebron have MVP performances EVERY game? ???

if they're playing like last night, its hard to beat them. but if they can cool off I think they are very beatable...I find it hard to believe that they can keep up those performances over a 7 game series

They won't need to going forward. They'll just attack at will against everyone else.

C's defense has been pretty good. The offense once again is the problem.

If we could also not turn the ball over at inopportune times,  then Lebron and Wade would have a few less points in transition.

And if we can just put a body on Joel Anthony one time....

We really are being beaten by super human play.

But can that really last from both of them....for the rest of the series?

Guys, that's really not what killed us. We played really good defense all night and limited a team with Lebron and Wade and Bosh to 45% shooting. Sure, some of their bad shots improbably went in, and that was the difference between a "really good" defensive night and an "unbelievable" one.

But we shot 43% from the field and they got to the line 14 more times than us. In other words, our offense sucked (and this is coming from a guy that usually feels people don't value defense or defensive players enough).

Expecting our defense to be much better than it was last night is a bit unrealistic. But our offense can be, and has to be, much better if we want to win.
