I think it's about time to thank them for those 4 great, unforgettable years...

we all know they deserved something more than just 1 championship, but sometimes luck, sometimes injuries(in fact more than just sometimes), sometimes Mr. Stern and finally Danny decided otherwise on behalf of them... :-\

Pierce was the reason I became a big Celtics fan back in the early 2000s, despite living in Europe... him, Kevin and Ray are the reasons why I'll prolly remain one for the rest of my life!!

so... thanks for the memories Big 3, you showed everybody, all over the world, what it means to be a true Celtic over these 4 years...!! It's been a ride to remember... :-[

It would have been a tragedy for all three of them to retire without a ring.  I followed Ray around Milwaukee and Seattle and then here to Boston and this was absolutely the best ride despite him putting up much better stats in Seattle.  Boston truly is a Brotherhood and I'll remember and think about this era forever.

Thanks guys!!

Well winning 1 title and losing in the finals in a 4 year period isn't too shabby I guess.

Still this is a really disappointing end. At least it's better than being a lottery team.

Thanks to the Big 3, glad they got at least 1 ring.

Here's to hoping that the rebuild process will be fast.

  • Rondo = Good
I am extremely grateful for the memories the Big 3 have given me, and pretty much for getting me to be so interested in NBA basketball in the first place.

I'm glad each of them got a ring in their careers (and I could see Ray getting one or two more as a role player for a contender).

I hope Danny can have the courage and the smarts to make the right moves and get us back to relevancy with a young, athletic, exciting team brimming with talent within the next 5 years.  It'll be a tough road, but I believe Danny can do it as long as he doesn't try too hard to hold onto this current group -- including Rondo.

Wow...did we lose the series yet?

Why the sad thread?

This team isn't done until we lose 4 games, right?

Yeah, following the Celtics is more fun when they win 55 games a year and go through multiple playoff rounds, then  lose 55 and look forward to the lottery.

Then again, there is still time to make more positive memories.

It's sad. I'm even more sad to think that Queen James will be the one to knock them off.

Yeah, that's the thing that's the hardest to take about it.  But to be fair, the Celtics gave James a lot of heartache over the last few years.  Hopefully they can at least win a couple games before the series is over and make it seem relatively competitive.  Go down fighting.

And also thank u Doc.

I've been a Celtics fan for 20 years now and I my dream came true when I spent almost all my life saving to travel to Boston (from Israel) to see 3 games of the Boston Celtics at TD Garden.

Thank u Doc,Ray Kevin and Paul.

I hope it won't take another 20 years for Banner 18.

They're not through making memories yet, so I'll wait until they're gone before I "bury" their memories. I'm sorry, I'm usually pretty passive around here, especially of late, but I thoroughly disagree with threads that end seasons and careers before their really done.

This is about as pessimistic as it can get, and I'm sorry to see so many buying into it. The season and the careers of "The Big Three" are far from over, so let's not retire their jerseys while they're still staining them with sweat to get us to the next round!! >:(
