which means historically the Celtics have almost no chance.  Now down 0-2, it really is bleak.  And I'm not being a doubter, or a downer, or a pessimist.  I'm just being realistic.  Don't get me wrong, I obviously will pulling for the Celtics and think we can still win the series, but it really is bleak, and no, this is not an overreaction, it is just reality.

I've actually spent some time looking and the only time I can recall a team with the two best players in the series that lost was when Denver beat Seattle in the 8 over 1 upset.  Of course that was a 5 game series.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Yeah, losing home court advantage to them at the end of the season is proving to be the nail in the coffin.

We have three Hall-of-Famers in their Mid-30's

They have two or three Hall-of-Famers in their Mid-20's

This is the NBA.  That's pretty simple math to figure out who that favors

Well at least the Celts have a pulse. The Celts evidently weren't fooling with the late season slide. It ain't over yet but I'm sure DA is looking over his move chances. Our Banner days are over for awhile. It's been fun. I will finally say that last trade move was a dagger to the heart of the team. We totally lost our energy. I can't carry a grudge because he gave us so much respect so fast. Here's hoping he keeps up his foresightedness and makes necessary repairs to the team.

I will say when the Celts were clicking, they were one of the best teams I have ever seen.

Now the Sox are moving on up...........

Yup.  The Celtics generally play better team basketball, but the NBA is more than ever about teams that have multiple superstars in their prime.

All respect to the Celtics for what they've done over the past few years.  It's been a great run, and I'm excited to see what comes next.  I can only hope that Danny can do a good job of making the right moves to get us back to relevance within the next 5 years.  In the meantime, there are a lot of exciting young teams in the NBA with a chance to challenge the established NBA elite (two of them are going at it right now in OKC).

Since you rarely get a Wade/Lebron level of players on one team, your decisions about which are the top two players in a given series will generally be pretty subjective.

With regards to the title, that's something that we've known since "the Decision." Wade and Lebron are both making their jumpers. We're hobbled and not making ours. That's what its coming down to right now.

That's the way I saw it after watching these 2 games. I was hoping another All-Star PG Rajon Rondo, a better Center (JO vs Z or whomever) and a better bench would more than makeup for the discrepancy of the teams Big 3's. Now if the C's play the Heat as well as they've played the 1st two games, they should have no problem winning Games 3 and 4, even if its only by a few points or less. That would ensure a tied 2-2, 6 game, long, money-making $erie$ which is good for business and the NBA's economy.  ;)

They have the two best players in the entire league. Not just the series.

They also have a fanbase that looks like a bunch of cult members, all decked out in white...  and a bench player named James (Jim?) Jones.  Coincidence?

Kobe, KD, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, and Blake Griffen fans have a right to enter this debate on who the two best players in the NBA are.

I dunno, perhaps we are playing up to our abilities and it is a case of you are who you are and the NBA order pulled the rug out from under our feet. That is really bad when that happens. Danny would be quick to dismantle this team if we lose two more games to the Heat - especially 4 straight.

Blake Griffin, Rose, and Kobe have no business being in that conversation.  Griffin especially . . . I'm not sure I'd put him in the top ten yet.

Wade
Howard
Durant

Why would Kobe not be in the top ten? How many rings has he won in his career?

Hint: It is five times as many as Lebron and Wade combined.

Go Dallas.

Yes - the Heat do in fact have the best two players not only in the series but IMO the NBA in Wade and Lebron.

But last time I checked Boston has the best Team.
