You mean the Big 3 era or just this season?

We won a chip so the answer is yes.

Yes, the big three era.

IF it is the end? Then yes - IMO it was successful. But I don't think it is the end, myself.

To answer the question - 1 Banner with a 66 win season...followed up with a 62 win deep playoff run missing Powe and KG...followed by a Finals run even though we lost to LA in Game 7?

I'm happy with that, but even moreso once we get Banner 18 this June.

Unsuccessful. The least these guys can do is tie LA for chips this era.

That is the only thing that could be considered a mild success.
Never stop believing baby~

Many Basketball franchises would just prefer 17 championships.

I'd say unsuccessful. If we could've built around Bassy Telfair, Gerald Green and drafted Jeff Green out of the gates we'd probably be looking at 6 or 7 championships. Paul Pierce wouldn't have an issue w/ that, right?

My answer was framed on the fact that I endured the Lean Years....seeing Boston decline in the late 80's and 90's, and struggle through a good portion of the 2000's made me very grateful for what Boston has done here the last few years.

I'm not judging those here who say unsuccessful....but it is interesting to see others take on the question.

i gotta agree with you on this one...one championship is really going to be a let down...i thought we would get 2-3. hopefully we don't have to wait another 20 years for competittive teams again.

Yeah seriously, even just one for some teams. This is why people don't like Celtics/Boston fans...

(and yeah, I'd consider it a success)

Successful. As a season ticketholder who went through the 19 straight losses, how could it be otherwise? The Celtics are relevant again, won a championship, and for the most part have made the NBA fun again in Boston.

Its not over.

But no matter what happens going forward it was a success. We contended for four years, we lost a game 7 by a slim margin and won a title. Even when KG was injured we pushed the Magic to the brink with a three man big rotation of Perkins/Glen Davis/Brian Scalabrine.

Definately a success. Especially considering what we gave up to get KG and Ray. Paul definately would've been gone too. Since we probably would've gotten nowhere with that group that was traded to Minny for KG, you can argue that our future is better since Rondo probably wouldn't have developed into half the player he is today without the big 3.

I've said all along that everything after 2007-8 is gravy.   It doesn't take away the disappointment of losing in the playoffs (or the Finals), or watching the Lakers win banners, but... this was an unanticiapted run and I'll be forever grateful for it.
