Am I reading correctly that people here actually believe that the game was rigged ?
One guy even said that Doc should've walked the team off? What the heck?

Do people understand that after two technical fouls you're ejected? The ref had no choice but to throw him and Pierce should have been weary of this. Perhaps the ref should have consulted the other refs first BUT the reason we lost this game was because of the following reasons, NOT the reffing.

*Poor execution the entire first half. The Heat NEVER get off to good starts and that's exactly what we let them do.

*terrible 3 point defense against Jones. He shot 5-7 and we continued to let him roam the 3 point line at will.

*Rondo in early foul trouble meant that he never got a flow going.

*The Heat shooting the lights out from the field and the 3 point line.

*KG not taking multiple easy opportunities close to the rim (one great example when he passed to JO who took and hit a very difficult fade away jump shot.)

*Mike Bibby actually doing his job on defense and Rondo not attacking him enough after he showed resistance the first few times.

*Rondo and KG playing like garbage for the most part. (KG gets a pass because of his defense being normal- on offense he was horrid though).

* The Heat managed to get inside Pierce's head and beat us at our own game and hold our runs back into the game with excellent help defense. How many times were our guys stripped or turned the ball over from a Heat's challenging hand or steal attempt..leading to a fast break score aka the Heat's bread and butter.

If you think the Heat getting 10 more free throws than us is some kind of evidence that they were calling more fouls against us then I suggest you check how many more free throws the Heat get against most other teams. They are an isolation 1v1 team with two of the best interior driving/attacking players in the world as their back court.

This loss sucked, but it also showed one of Miami's best shooting performances of the year- they were pumped and ready for this game at home. We played horribly except for Ray, and we still lost by under 10 points and could have won the game if Pierce kept his cool and a few bounces went our way. I am very confident after this game because I think this was pretty much the best the Heat have to offer and we were far from our best and still only lost by 9 points.

Now we just need to steal this game and go back home with a home crowd and an appearance from Shaqzilla.

Yeah, this one wasn't fixed . . . the Celtics got thoroughly beaten, fair and square.

Last year we lost game 1 to the Cavs by 8 after Rondo going off for 28, 12, and 7 and KG going for 18 and 10.

We played pretty terrible yesterday and still made some runs. Granted Ray Allen was lights out but he was the ONLY guy getting in done where Miami had Wade doing the same thing and just a casual 25 (!!) from Jones

Bull, the refs can call a foul on every possession if they wanted to. Some wait for an opportune time to exhale into their pacifier. Get used to the fact the Media along with Stern do not like Boston. They know this current roster is doomed to end and crash soon. They are looking for a long distance team to lead the League forward. Miami is that team. A big population team with 2 Star quality players that will keep the young folks in the game. Miami needs 3 more. We need 4. I like their chances for lots reasons.

what a cop out.
They could have won this game with the reffing the exact same way it was. Turnovers aren't caused by referees. KG not taking easy open shots ain't caused by refs. Bibby stopping Rondo ain't caused by refs and James Jones getting 25 points on wide open three after three ain't either.
Eat some humble pie and get the green glasses off.
If they played at 80% of their potential as a team they would've easily beaten the Heat last night with the exact same reffing.
You're just giving them excuses and an easy way out.

Not to mention some of the free throws came from INTENTIONAL shooting fouls from one of our guys wrapping up a Heat player. Both KG and Rondo did that at the beginning of the game to Lebron, and that right there is 4 free throws..then you count the flagrant from JO and that's what, another 3 free throws(sorry didn't see if it was a shooting foul too or away from the ball)

TP for the OP.

The Celtics bench played horrible, there were too many turnovers and Rondo committed a stupid foul early that changed the complexion of the game.

Also, Pierce has GOT TO BE SMARTER! Why was James Jones the one pulling off the veteran savvy moves!? He's the one that drew a flagrant off of O'neal at a crucial moment in the game when the C's were making a run. He also kicked his legs out at a charging Paul Pierce that resulted in 3 free throws. Paul should have played up both those fouls. He lost his composer C's lost the game.

So.. Yeah, I don't buy into any of this excuse making crap. The Celtics have to and will be better and more composed next game.
