We need someone to man the middle JO isn't scaring anyone

We need hard good physical fouls

We need to secure rebounds ( not tips like JO/Baby/KG)

We need some good screens from a big body to get free (most important)

The Diesel fits that bill I think it's time to pull him out the garage and fire up that engine >:(

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
he is very close apparently.
Probably show his face in game 3 in front of the home crowd.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Shaq won't solve all of our problems, but he will be a welcome addition to the second unit. JO has been fine since the playoffs started. If nothing else, playing Shaq will reduce the need to play BBD.

Jermaine needs to get mor than 3 rebounds in 21 minutes. Krstic has become a non-factor. They need Shaq to have a chance at this series.

Not sure how you can say that. What if Shaq plays and puts up 10 points in the first period and puts the heat back on thei heels? They need Shaq now.

Yeah, while I think the C's can win without Shaq, I don't think his ability to change the complexion of a game can be understated.  Particularly with the way the C's struggled to score (especially in the first half), he really could have made a difference, even if not by scoring, by demanding attention that could have opened things up for others.

I think the C's didn't play very good overall today, but certainly can't say Shaq wouldn't have made a difference in a 9 point game.

I'm pretty sure Doc is only expecting to get 15 minutes a game TOPS out of Shaq. While he'll help, he's not our savior. Rondo can't afford to get in early foul trouble with dumb fouls like the one on the Lebron fast break, and we have to execute better. We missed a ton of shots we normally make. Not too worried about this one.

It's all the little things like I listed and what you say scoring or opening it up for others we needed that badly, even in limited minutes Shaq brings that instantly just stepping on the floor.

we got hurt in the late first early 2nd q mainly. If Shaq is in for 7 minutes, a relatively mobile Shaq is very capable of getting 8 points that we just didn't get. The Shaq who played 5 minutes the other day was actually enough, he just can't get hurt

I think he will play in Game 3 back in Boston.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

shaq would reduce bbd minutes at center which would be a good thing...i would be concerned about his slowness though...against the heat that can really hurt us....i can't imagine him coming back and immediately being effective...if he has to try to work himself into form, this is not a good series to try to accomplish that...if he is truly able to hit the ground running then he can be a plus.

this has always been the question ever since we made the Perk deal.

The only way to keep Wade and Lebron consistently away from the rim is if we have Shaq, JO, and Baby (taking charges) all clogging the middle. a couple hard fouls from Shaq will be nice too...

this league has become too pussified...anything resembling a message foul or semi-hard foul will be punished with the flagrant call and possible suspension which will negate the benefits...
