game was lost when rondo got #2 foul on james break a way....give him the slam

True, he didn't play the whole second quarter.
Game was also lost when Rondo threw the ball away a gazillion times in the end of the game.
Game was lost many ways, can't wait for Tuesday.

5 against 8 is not fair game.

Hmm overall reaction would be that I am still pretty mad, but I can't say I didn't see this coming.

Heat were at home, were really fired up and brought their A-game.

We stunk it up and despite playing so badly (both defensively and offensively) we only lost by 9. I'll take that.

There were some ticky-tacky fouls, but it doesn't change the fact that we came out flat and careless turnovers pretty much cost us the game.

Looking forward to game 2, and hope the C's come out strong and shut the Miami Heat fans up for good. Really hope those anti-Boston chants lit a fire under them and the come out and domiante game 2.

There was a run in the 3rd quarter when the C's had it to 8 and then Pierce missed 2 wide open shots (including a 3), JO couldn't coaxe in a 6-footer and KG missed a money J from the top of the key.  During this stretch, C's played great D.  Then Lebron hit 2 J's and run is over.     This was the point in the game that I felt we really had a chance and lost it.

That said, Miami played well and yet I don't feel that the C's can't defend them or score against them.  I wish we'd taken the first since now there is a pretty big need to win Game 2, but that's the way it is.  C's must squeeze out a win on Tuesday.

Bottom line, we missed a lot of shots we usually make, the refs killed our momentum multiple times with some questionable calls, guys lost their cool, and James Jones went nuts. We've still got a good shot at this.

Everyone needs to keep in mind this is a veteran team.
They know the importance of everygame.

We lost game 1 to the bulls, to the cavs, etc and still won the series. Celtics will have a chance to win this series whether it be in 5, 6, or 7 we will have a chance to advance.

I put a lot of the blame on Doc Rivers for playing Davis at center. I am not a fan of Glen Davis by any means, but under no circumstance should he be in there at center. And no, i don't care if Miami goes small either. He is a negative when he's in at center. Doc Rivers has no business putting him in that position. Also, the rotations were horrific. Guys were out there confused, and scrambling, and trying to figure out who is supposed to guard who. This is why Jones had so many open looks. It's up to the coaching staff to prepare these guys. They looked totally unprepared for the game today.

6 minutes in, I knew this was gonna be a physical and sometimes dirty game.

I have three major points from this game that resulted in a loss. Ray's shooting and some of our runs could have actually turned this into a win, could have. Anyway here they are:

1. Rondo- clearly not in Rondo mode. I remember one of the commentators saying he had 0 assists up to that point. That should never be said after the first 3,4,5 minutes. Sloppy play sometimes and (not all his fault but still) the fouls killed his drive. By the times he came back it wasn't enough.

2. Pierce getting ejected. Jones and/or Wade should have gotten flagrant 1's. They were on par with JO's hip check. Its playoff basketball, elite teams, elite players. Verbal taunting? I forgot these guys never swear on court. Just nonsense. I told a friend, would this same thing happen to LeChoke or Wade in Pierces case? Nope

3. First quarter slip ups. Turnovers, fouls, poor play. Miami wasnt perfect here either, but everyone could tell they were in control at this point. We need to establish a strong presence early.

Also, James Jones will not repeat this performance again. And Wade was a beast tonight, just couldn't miss.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.
