But these weren't examples of Wade and James getting questionable "and ones" when they barely get brushed on drives to the basket.  These were blatantly horrible calls that very well could remind people of Tim Donaghy.  And they changed the game.  In all instances, the C's were in the middle of the run, and literally had 3-5 point swings happen the other way.  

And what is more, those didn't seem to go both ways this game.

The Referees did put the screws to the Celtics today. That call on Pierce for getting ejected after the legal pick set on Wade was a disgrace.... Pierce must of said I nailed you Wade you piece of work to earn his 2nd T and Rabbit Ears Goober Ref gave Pierce the gate.

Despite that, this game was not winnable because of poor execution on both offense and defense in the last 4 minutes of each quarter - see my Game Thread comment.

I thought game 1 was officiated by a high school referee. Throwing out a professional basketball player by a simple verbal taunt just don't make any sense. The integrity of the game (basketball itself) is destroyed when the referees make calls that are not even basketball in nature. Let the players decide the outcome of the game.

This game only further adds to (my and to a lot of fans') growing disenchantment of basketball due by large to flaws in officiating. If Stern thinks that a professional game must be handled like this one (and to several games we have witnessed in the past) then he fails in his campaign to increase/widen the popularity of the sport. The NBA is showing a lot of flaws of the game. I guess referees should only throw out players who intentionally hurt fellow players.

Paul Pierce will have a huge game on Tuesday ... he is just that kind of competitor. You think it was personal for LeBomb? It is now highly personal for The Truth, and the Heat will find that out in Game 2. It's time for KG to take it up a notch as well ... he was a monster earlier in the season, and we need that back NOW. There was really only one player who had the intensity needed for a Game 1, and that was Ray ... that can not happen again.

Lol james jones is such a flopper, as if you can fall to the ground like tht...and pretending to be headbutted by PP....lol....at least take a real hit before u flop and exaggerate....


and verbal taunting lol....can anyone please tell me how KG can stay in a game for longer than 10 mins if that's how they call it...refs make me angry man....and as if intentionally looking to "inflict pain" by barging into a screen with elbow/shoulder isn't as bad....please someone, please, please explain to me what's going on...i really wish i can meet the refs just to tell them nicely what i said and see how they respond lol

Let's not forget the West-Chalmers incident. West gets a well deserved T for throwing the ball at Chalmers. The thing is that Chalmers does retaliate as he talks back and shoves West before they're are broken up. However, no T on Chalmers is called. If you're going to give double T's on Pierce-Jones and Pierce-Wade then how do you not give one here?

PP-Jones...no flagrant 1 called. Instead, it's a double T. Correct call should've been flagrant 1 on Jones and a technical on Pierce.

PP-Wade...no flagrant 1 called. Instead, it's a double T. Correct call should've been flagrant 1 on Wade, as his elbow was much more vicious than JO's, and nothing on Pierce.

We also had two defensive 3 seconds T's called and an offensive violation when Pierce set a screen for Aleen out of bounds, which only happened because James pushed Pierce from the back.

Guys, there is a lot of reason for optimism. We were flat in the first half probably because of the long layoff. However, despite the call disparity we did outscore the Heat by 6 in the second half.

I was just shocked at how the announcers chose to completely over look it. Pierce set one good pick and Wades bumps it on the way by. Ray turns back Pierce sets and even better won Wade sees the pick lowers his shoulder and puts on the jets and hits him what clearly should've been a flagrant offensive foul. Pierce takes it like a man and obviously lets Wade know he's no light weight. Pierce is ejected nothing was said about Wade's play during the game. I'm p---ed!

This is a case where they didn't get the instigator and didn't take control of the game.

If wade is allowed to do this with no repercussions than why don't we have Baby just truck over him next game?

I don't understand that because Pierce had a technical already that the Heat are therefore allowed to do whatever they want to invoke another T on him. It was just so bogus.

I honestly don't see how that isn't a flagrant 2. How is it a basketball play? Pierce stood his ground firm but if he was a little off balance Wade would have knocked him out. He was running full speed, lowered his shoulder and went right into Pierce.

You could just see him sizing Pierce up completely unprovoked
