Doc, Danny, ownerships, and likely the players need to call out the refs publicly today and tomorrow. This was the most poorly officiated game that I've ever seen.  While it might simply be poor officiating with no insidious motive, the Celtics must come out and say that this is a league-wide conspiracy to promote Wade and LeBron.

Might it sound crazy and desperate?  Maybe.  However, if they get the word out, every time the refs make a call like the Pierce T or Jermaine's phantom flagrant foul, people will start to ask questions.  And then everytime the refs go to make a call like that in the future, they're going to hesitate and likely not do it.  You even saw it with the young ref today.  Doc was cursing him out and telling him to call a T on him and he refused, knowing that he'd already negatively altered the game.

Usually, I'm not one to suggest things like this.  But with the way the Heat get calls, whether because of some master plan by Stern or simply because the refs are in awe, the C's need to do some P.R. of their own and compel the refs to overcompensate to prove that they aren't a bunch of Tim Donaghys.

Yes, because calling out the refs and inciting fines from the league will definitely ensure that the refereeing will be better in the future . . . .

PJ does it every time, does he not? Doc should, too but most likely won't. Sadly, I should add.

That's how it works for Phil Jackson every series.

Look at it this way.  You and I work together.  I come out and say that you're lazy and useless to the company.  I come across looking like a jackass at first.  However, after I make those comments, you likely try to avoid looking lazy, even when warranted.  Furthermore, anytime you are lazy, people would often start to wonder.

I understand what you're saying; however, if the C's came out and called out the refs, and similar atrocities occurred next game, people would start asking questions and making allegations.  Furthermore, next game's refs would have that nagging thought in the back of their heads that people might start to wonder about their integrity.

I'm not saying it's going to stop the tic-tac fouls that LeBron and Wade get all the time, but it should stop the absurd calls that literally did change the flow of the game today.

I'm not saying the C's deserved to win either.  However, if the refs hadn't sucked, they may have found a way like they did in the first two NY games.

Paul shouldn't have pulled that junk he did to get the first T.
But that second one was just bull. I don't care what he said,
nothing could've been said that bad.

Yep... the fix was in today.  Not that the Celtics would have won, but come on, Pierce getting ejected was a move you only make if you're openly trying to fix a game.  Not to mention that Lebron would never have gotten that first tech after what happened with James Jones...

And that's the problem.  No way that LeBron gets tossed for that.

I think Doc will have some passive-aggressive comments about tonight's officiating for sure.  Who knows if it'll take.

I really didn't think the reffing was bad for most of the game, either.  But the ridiculous flagrant on JO along with the Pierce Ts were pretty bad, and both came at moments where we were closing in.

C'mon Celtics fans, we're better than this. We lost because we got outplayed today, not because of the refs.

But it doesn't change the fact that there were egregious game changing calls that took place.  Calls that should be questioned given how one-sided they were.

Also, had they not occurred, we're talking a 5-10 point swing.  That could've accounted for the game.  Doesn't mean the C's should've won, but also doesn't mean that they couldn't have.  Look at both NY games in Boston.
