without an inside game we are toast.

Yeah, basically.  It's been a huge issue for this team for a while, even in '08.  That's why Shaq is so important.  It looks likely that the C's will be down 2-0 before Shaq even gets back, though, so I'm not optimistic.

bottom line...they need to come out with a better start...this team is not a good in-game comeback team...yeah yeah, last series against the knicks, down by 24 against the lakers in 08 but the fact is, those are the exception, not the rule...

they come out with a slow start like that again, and they'll be looking at an 0-2 deficit

i don't think boston is going to panic. they were in this SAME spot last year vs the cavs.

Last year's Cavs team was not nearly as talented as this Heat team.

As long as Rondo stays out of foul trouble, Celtics will win this series. They need to win one away game out of the next 3 in Miami.

they had the best record in basketball. but that is neither here or there...the situation is the same for the Cs...

and they were in the same spot vs LA and won game 2

Of course we could lose the series, but that doesn't mean we will. This series was expected to go more than 4 games, and all this Heats win does is guarantee that it really will.

The refs made some horrible calls in some key situations, that really made the Celtics job to come back from their deficit far harder than it should have been, and anyone who watched this game saw that. Jermaine O'neal's foul was no flagrant. We were on a run, their lead was down to single digits. That was absolute rubbish.

Don't even get me started on how Pierce's first tech, wasn't preceded by a flagrant by Jones. If you're going to call rubbish flagrants, like what was called against Jermaine, they better call that crap on James Jones. And don't get me started on Pierce's ejection. Absolute rubbish, and everyone knows it.

The Celtics clearly showed tonight that, even with a huge lead, the Celtics can, for stretches, really have their way with this Heat team. The series isn't over, it has only just gotten started.

no need to panic, but this game exposed a lot of our weaknesses and people need to realize it was NOT a 'fluke' or a 'lucky win' for the Heat.  Frankly the heat are the better team, we need to have better strategy and better effort and I didn't see either of those things today.  I'm a little angry about our center position, we are so passive inside now that I don't think we can make up for that now.  If shaq were healthy it might help but I don't think he will be able to contribute much if anything after being out this long.

This game has sucked.  The series isn't over yet, though.

We lost Game 1 against the Cavs last year.

We got killed in Game 3 against the Cavs last year.

Each time, we bounced back and didn't quit.  How we respond in Game 2 is the key.  If we come out, play hard, and win, then we're right back in this series.

This, exactly. Basically the only guy who could score tonight for us was Ray and yet the game remained somewhat close. Yes, the Heat made all the big runs to answer ours and were in control but KG, Pierce and Rondo all got open looks that they simply missed. Also, Doc has to play JO more.

Jeff "why can't people see his potential" Green is useless...actually, the whole bench sucks.

But he dunked the ball and hit two 3-pointers. He also had no rebounds in 19 big minutes. Don't forget the contribution from Stiff-tich.
