I think the media are purposely choosing the Heat because they know whats at stake for them

Ever since they introduced themselves with that concert and laser show, they have built up unreal hype. It was projected that they would win 72+ games and run away with the title. So when they struggled and looked like the flawed team that they are, ESPN and NBA TV have tried their hardest to make excuses for them

They know so many things are riding on this series
If Lebron can't get past the Celtics it would be the most embarrassing thing in the History of the NBA. A heralded Jordan part II who got millions of dollars in endorsements straight out of high school. If he loses this series, it would be a big red mark on his legacy

So even if the Celtics win, I expect there to be a headline of "Miami Heat Big 3 fall short"
Instead of "Celtics prevail over the Heat"

They are picking the Heat because they want a Lebron V Kobe final.
And no, him not getting past the C's this time will not be the most embarrassing thing in the history of the NBA.
He gets at least one season to gel with the team or add some better role players.

The headlines might say that for one day and then they will immeditaely switch to either Bulls vs LA finals or C's vs LA finals etc..whatever makes the biggest story with the current available information is what they always run with.

Not to really compare the two, but it's worth pointing out that LeBron is still younger than Jordan was when he won his first title.

So, let's say Lebron plays the most clutch series ever against the Celts. Triple doubles, game winners, fierce D, and a series win for the Heat.

Now, let's say he falls flat on his face in the next round and the Heat don;t win it all.

Are people going to remember his heroics over the Celtics?

The Heat need to win it all.  Then Lebron can have his defining moment.

Right now his defining moment is a made for TV "event".
Yup

LeBron is going to have lots of defining moments in the years to come.

This Celtics-Heat series is just the biggest in his career so far.

Yeah, they say this now, but they could have said something similar last year (and in fact did) during the Celtics / Cavs series.

I think this is more a defining moment for the Celtics' legacy than it is for Lebron's, mainly because it is the Celtics' last real chance before they become lame-duck contenders like the Spurs were the last few years.

100% agree.
the window is closing and our starting 4 live for moments like this. All the pressure is on the Heat too which is favorable to us I think.

Lebron is going to be charging in the lane like a bull, lets see who has the guts to stand in there and take the hit!

Very true. The Celtics need that second title to cement their legacy as a group

Are we forgetting about Jordan's issues vs the Pistons?

I believe that Glen Davis will be there to take some charges from Lebron.

He and the rest of the Celtics will step up big in this series. No playing around this time.

You got it, GF, (TP) ... and Pierce and Rondo have taken charges from him as well. This Celtics team is no bunch of sissies ... they're a very physical team that's not afraid to go to the floor for a loose ball or take a charge when needed.

I'll be surprised if Bosh has much to do with this series, (though he'll probably have one decent game), and I see this as pretty much a cohesive unti against two Superstars and their "entourage' ... I'll go with the team any day.

I posted that the Celtics would win in six, (mainly because of their propensity to have at least one horrible game per series), but I honestly feel like they'll win in five, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised.

Most people are underestmating this team, and have been all year, but there is so much experience, fire power, intensity, and depth on this team, that the world is in for a few surprises ... like last year.
