Did rondo dress today?

When Rondo's been on the floor, the C's have been a much better team.

Yeah. They cut the lead by 1 in the third - lol

This, to me, is the stars aligning in every possible way in the Heat's favor. That does not constitute being a superior team. The Heat have a long way to go before they've proven anything. I'm not giving up on this team in the long run and im not giving up on them in the fourth quarter. KG is having an unusual mind**** game offensively and it isn't necessarily because of awesome Heat defense. Rondo was taken out by the refs immediately. All I'm saying is this game thus far doesn't have to be a sign of the rest of the series due to plenty of reasons.

  • Rondo = Good
James Jones 19 points. Never expected that.

I guess we all should have, though.  The Heat are not a stupid team -- they are taking advantage of the Celtics' defensive philosophy.  The Celtics load the strong side and then the Heat kick it to their shooters on the weak side, which gets a lot of open shots for James Jones, Mike Bibby, Mike Miller etc.

This is not what I expected to see tuning in at the end of the 3rd...wow. Heartbreaking and embarrassing.

Are you really that surprised?  Really?

Yeah, I am. We're better than this.

The only thing I can think of is The Celtics taking game 3 & 4 at home and planting the seed of doubt in Miami.  ANd then maybe in game 5 you get hot like last year's game 5 against cleveland and put yourself in position.  That's all cause the way their playing. they aint winning game 2

  • It's not hard to work hard.
JO has been bad, as well. The Flagrant was a bad call but the foul was just plain stupid. How many boards does he have? 1? 2?

Jeff Green is almost useless out there. I don't mind trading Perk, but they could have at least tried to trade him for someone who can leave an impact.

About ready to throw in the towel on this one. Not enough to have the physical gifts. Needs the mental edge. Have yet to see it.

Total domination. This is embarrassing, just like the last game against the heat.

Like I said, looks like they got our number. They've neutralized Rondo, dominated the post and closed off jumpers. Young and athletic helps.

Yeah, certainly looks like the Heat have finally got the Celtics all figured out.

It's like you've never witnessed a playoff loss before.

If this continues throughout the series, you'll be correct.  But, right now the C's have played a game in which they missed many makeable shots and the heat hit very well from downtown.  That accounts for a 14 point lead.

Get Pavlovic on for Green - is it possible he can be worse?

WOW, LOOK AT THAT!

Big Baby gets out of the game and the team goes on a run.

The best thing that could happen to this team would be for Davis to get vertigo or something so that he can't play the rest of the playoffs. (not wishing any serious injury on the guy, and I want him to be healthy for next year so some other team can pay him, but it would really be miraculous if he could stop playing)

You should email your scouting reports to the Celtics FO, I´m sure Danny and Doc appreciate it.

No problem. You know what else I would tell them?

You could directly correlate our scoring differential by quarter with Glen Davis' minutes. We kill it in the first and third quarters where Glen rarely plays, and then are bad in the second where he gets a big chunk of times and abysmal in the fourth where we rely on him heavily to close out games.

Honestly, I feel like freaking Mugatu in Zoolander "Am I the only person that's seeing this? his faces are all the same Every minute Glen Davis plays hurts this team. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills."

I wouldn´t call you crazy, I´d call you misguided. Baby isn´t a star player, he´s a bench player, and has more quality than many other bench 4s in the league.

I disagree with you that he's better than most other bench 4's. Davis is a ball-stopper and inefficient shooter on offense, and he's just as bad if not worse on the defensive end. He can't defend PF's or C's due to his shortness (not just height, but wingspan) and he's not fast enough to defend 3's. He gets abused on the boards, which is a huge part of defense; you have to finish the other team's possession by securing a rebound.

In other words, he hurts the team on both ends when he's out there, and fairly significantly. Just about any other bench 4 at least isn't abysmal on both ends... a guy that can at least play defense and is invisible on offense is better, and so is a guy that gives a little offense and is just kind of weak on defense (Jeff Green, for example).

Glen Davis is the only bench player that is a net negative player on both sides of the ball that plays nearly 30 minutes a game. It's freaking insane. And Doc Rivers is horrible for enabling the situation to continue.

I don't think Perkins is that good, but Jeff Green is almost useless out there, and this coming from someone who likes Jeff Green. I don't mind trading Perk, but they could have at least tried to trade him for someone who can leave an impact on the game and make a difference. The bench is hopeless. I'd love to see Pavlovic and Wafer get some burn. Literally can't get any worse from that unit anyway.

To be fair to Danny, though, I don't think anybody predicted Jeff Green being this bad.

The advanced stats always suggested he was weighing OKC down. Turns out they were right.

The fact he's also passive, and has no real position -- that's just the cherry on top.

Jeff Green shooting well, but he drives to the basket like a little girl.

Celticsclay, you're not wrong. Paul and KG will never be called out for the performances today. Rondo and Green will be thrown under the bus though.
