Alot of teams/players go out of thier way to make sure the analysts talk about them. The celtics are quiet, more reserved. None of the guys on our team besides maybe BBD seem to have any interest in being "superstars" they want to be champions.
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

Well..maybe Paul too, a little. But he's the captain and he's clutch. He can do w/e he wants.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
So we're the only team in the 2nd round as of this moment (Chicago looks like they'll close out the Pacers). However ESPN states, "With the only sweep of the first round, Boston made a statement against New York, but this season's Celtics still seem poorly equipped to make a deep playoff run. Beyond lacking a strong center and playing slowly, as we discussed previously, the Celtics had the lowest offensive rebounding rate in the league this year. Historically, that would mark them as possible playoff underperformers."

That article was blatant casual fan half-hearted 'lets talk about everyone so that everyone clicks on it' garbage. Content prostitution at its best. ESPN ought to be ashamed they put forward and promoted something that a 9th grader could write. Basically its Madden 2008 all over again.

(If you don't get the reference, 2008 was the year EA Sports realized that they actually own exclusive rights to all NFL videogames, so they can just put out whatever crap they wanted and people would still buy it. ESPN now owns sports, and just puts out pure garbage because someone will read it.)

PPS: That article really sucked.

like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

The subject line of this thread is absolutely absurd.

ESPN like most mainstream media is full of less than intelligent, biased individuals.

co-sign.  TP.

Possibly. But they're not the ones writing about basketball. For the most part.

Oh come on, the only ESPN analyst I've seen that may outright be Anti-Celtic is John "Heat will breeze past the Celtics easily in the second round" Hollinger."

To what I've seen, everyone has given the C's credit for sweeping a team they supposedly should have in the Knicks, for one reason or another (injuries I guess?). And, some (yea, Barry and Wilbon) have gone on to suggest the Celtics may just be legit, after all.

You do realize that article is one man's opinion right?

There is no Mr. ESPN. These reporters are allowed to say/believe whatever they want.

You obviously don't watch or read ESPN, we get no love and haven't since we've gotten the Big Three.

That's kind of true, our first season nobody believed in us, saying we needed to learn to win - look at them struggling against the Hawks. Then the second round the Cavs were the defending EC Champs and had LeBron. Then we lost HCA (when we were currently 0-6 on the road) to the experienced Pistons. And then the Lakers steamrolled through the competition ever since they got Gasol. They were just waiting for us to lose so they could say "I told you so."

In 2009, KG was out and so went our championship aspirations.

Last year, because of our poor play to finish the season, some expected us to lose in the first round. Everyone (on ESPN) expected us to lose the second.

This is nothing new.

No real reason to expect the Celtics to accomplish anything this year.  We swept the worst team in the playoffs (with Amare and Billups out, they were the worst).

We certainly seem to be outmatched going against Miami.  Our bench and our big men are awful.  It's really LBJ, Wade and Bosh vs. Rondo, KG, Pierce, and Ray

Sure, and while we are at it, let's ignore the fact that we beat Heat 3 out of 4, and we lost when we were in a state of discombobulation.  Sorry, I have zero fear of the Heat. The Bulls and Lakers, yes, the Heat, no.

I don't think its about the analyst. I think its more about the media itself and the way they spin stories and overreact to Celtics' struggles

Right, so we sweep a bad team while Chicago and Miami lose to bad teams and we're the ones who don't have a chance?

Some of you are absolutely ridiculous, cant believe you even call yourselves celtics fans.

Considering half the roster was different during all three of those wins...I don't see how it applies

Daniels and Nate were the only important ones who played who are now gone. Perk played in the 3rd game
Stop making up stories. Heat suck
