So we're the only team in the 2nd round as of this moment (Chicago looks like they'll close out the Pacers). However ESPN states, "With the only sweep of the first round, Boston made a statement against New York, but this season's Celtics still seem poorly equipped to make a deep playoff run. Beyond lacking a strong center and playing slowly, as we discussed previously, the Celtics had the lowest offensive rebounding rate in the league this year. Historically, that would mark them as possible playoff underperformers."

Lacking a strong center? Did they even watch the series? Jermaine O'Neal has OVER performed and has proven that when healthy he can be a great shot blocker and post defender. Also, we don't play slow we run half court sets and occasionally push the break with Rondo. As far as the rebounding KG has been handling that (Averaging about 10 a game), although when we were playing on help D we gave up a few more rebounds then we should of. But the Big Shamrock is coming back next round and should help with this a LOT!

My question to ESPN is why all the hate aimed at my team? The Lakers are currently tied with a Hornet's squad that is missing its 2nd Option (aka David West) and the Grizzlies are on the brink of eliminating the Spurs...oh and without their best player (Rudy Gay). ESPN you guys are a bunch of haters. Boston stand up!!!!!!!

lol I know right. Not to mention just about everything I see on ESPN is pro-boston. I don't get where these threads keep coming from.
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

Hahahaha so true
The other city based pages like ESPN Chigaco or Dallas aren't that inclusive to local news

You do realize that article is one man's opinion right?

There is no Mr. ESPN. These reporters are allowed to say/believe whatever they want.

Because our city is a sports staple. I'm not talking about the Sox, Pats, Bruins, I'm talking about the Cs!!!!  ::)

You obviously don't watch or read ESPN, we get no love and haven't since we've gotten the Big Three.

Michael Wilbon went back on his prediction that the heat would beat the celtics just the other night. Stewart Scott and John Barry both agreed with him.

Rich Bucher is still picking the Cs to come out of the East.

Actually I watch about 3-4 hours of ESPN a day while at work and home. And I read quite a bit of thier stuff on the internet. I see plenty of pro-celtics talk all the time. Maybe you're just hearing what you want to hear?

ESPN is a New York and LA based media
That's why you see the propensity to always talk about the Knicks or Lakers. And it just so happens that both areas are Boston's rivals

Its not really about if the writers pick the Celtics or not. Its the lack of coverage, especially since Celtics have been the most impressive. You'd never see a writer completely blast the Lakers or Heat and still keep his job. Its just not gonna happen

I don't think ESPN is "anti-Celtic"...they just don't have a real superstar on their team to market (unlike Miami, LA, OKC, CHI, or NY), so there is no one to really hype up. Big 3 are past their prime, although Rondo is beginning to earn "star status" throughout the league.

Same with the Spurs, you never really hear much about them.

ESPN like most mainstream media is full of less than intelligent, biased individuals.

Idk about that. When the Big 3 first came, they were just getting out of their primes and still very relevant
