So he's not ready yet, huh? I thought traveling to NY would be an indicator that he does play in Game 4?! So if we sweep the Knicks, I really hope he's ready for Game 1 against the Heat. If not, he's definitely done.

TP.  Beat me to it.

I wonder if this is due to his health or whether the C's just don't think it's worth pushing him when he could potentially have a week's more recovery time if they win tomorrow.

Maybe he'll be ready for Game 5, if the Knicks win the next game, but I doubt he would be ready.

I think if it were 2-1 Shaq would be suited up tomorrow, but with nothing to lose up 3-0 it makes a lot of sense

Knew this was going to be the case as soon as it was clear we were going to win Game 3.  No sense in bringing back Shaq early just to have a better chance to sweep.  I don't think this has anything to do with his condition; if the series were 2-1, I think he would be playing.

Doc almost never brings anyone back from injury without having a team practice first. Since the C's don't practice today (probably due to fatigue), it was obvious he wouldn't play tomorrow.

Good, no point in having him play in that game anyway.  Bring out the brooms!  ;)

No. Travelling was an indication, if anything, that he's made progress and is closer to returning. Playing in game 4 was just wishful thinking

it means we don't need him for game 4 so we're not going to risk it. plain and simple

No sense playing him this series anyway.

Shaq won't play in the MSG. If the Cs lose game 4, he'll get some burn in game 5.

By the way, Shaq will be needed against the Magic, the Bulls or the Lakers. Against other teams JO/Nenad/KG/BBD are more than enough.

I don't think that's it, I don't think he would have played regardless. But yeah, up 3-0 I'd erred on the side of extreme caution.

Doc said in the article that he didn't want Shaq back out there until there was a practice and that Shaq went through it. Team didn't practice Saturday, so honestly Shaq's chances at playing in Game 4 ended there.

If the C's sweep tomorrow, Shaq has a whole week to prove he should play in Game 1 vs probably the Heat. I personally like his chances, but that's all Shaq has at this point; a chance, not a guarantee.
