BTW I apologize if you took any offense whatsoever to my comment, I just don't think it's fair that you can post up and down Celticsblog that the Celtics have no chance to make it back to the finals, let alone win, when you hadn't even seen them play a single playoff game, but a poster who is looking into the future with a much less negative/world is over attitude after the 2nd best offense in the league couldn't score a bucket against us on one of the best homecourts in the league, gets mocked with a picture.

i was mocking the fact that the original post completely looks past the Heat, who right now appear to be an even more formidable opponent than the Bulls.  heck, we're not even done with this series.

other posters are welcome to think that the celtics will be able to defeat, indeed humiliate, either team.  i will vigorously disagree with them, but they're welcome to think so.

If we were able to get by Miami in the next round, would you want the bulls in the eastern finals or would you want some crazy upset from the winner of the atlanta and orlando series?
NOT playing Chicago would probably be good for us in a couple of ways but I really want the c's to personally knock the bulls out and make rose and noah wish they hadn't said anything. They just don't scare me like Miami does.I think the Bulls just brought it every game where us and Lakers coasted. Bulls should be commended for that effort but I just don't think they'r on par with us,L.A.,S.A.Miami,and even Dallas and OKC are better teams in my opinion.

I want the Heat, Bulls, and then the Lakers.

I want our old men to beat them all down and bring home #18 in style.  To be the best, you have to beat the best.  If those 3 are it, then lets do it.

Not I.

I have a lump in my throat.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Heat then Hawks.  But I'm being selfish.  Love to get to see the C's in playoff game here in Hotlanta.

Bouts of depression after a loss, and bursts of over-confidence after a convincing win.  Celticsblog would be nothing without it's consistency.  :D
I don't think it's unreasonable to think that the celtics can beat the bulls. I saw your post first and went to the first page expecting to see something that sounded cocky or over-confident but it was just like 3 guys saying they think the celtics can beat the bulls.

Also, are people supposed to be happy and confident after a loss?

I wasn't intending my comment to be slight on the OP or to imply he was being 'cocky' in any way whatsoever.  I was commenting on the hilarity of the bi-polar nature of the forums after wins and losses.  I have no problem with this thread, I just find it funny that after a win like last nights you start seeing threads with people considering who they'd like to play between the Bulls and Orlando, but after a loss you would think most people here are talking about an entirely different lottery team.

As for the rhetorical question you posed about people being 'happy and confindent after a loss,' I know you're a frequent poster here so you're obviously aware of how this place gets after a loss.  People get very carried away on both ends of the spectrum, but after a loss you see some of the most comically negative over-dramatic threads you could ever imagine.

I think this discussion is great, and I'm glad that people are feeling positive, I just found the discussion about which team we'd rather face (which is still two difficult series down the road) very entertaining.

And for the record, I'd rather face the Bulls (give me the most difficult road possible so that there can be no doubters!)

The only team I really want a piece of in the playoffs is the Lakers.  I was thrilled last year when they marched right through the teeth of the NBA --- beating Wade, Bron, Dwight and then taking on Kobe.  This year, it would be sweet to beat the top teams on the way there but it definitely takes its toll.

I just want LA in the finals.  Championships over the Lakers taste oh so much sweeter than the rest.  of course, if we should get knocked out before then, I want LA knocked out early too.

The Celtics are winning #18 this year. I don't care against who, but it would be very nice to beat "the best team in the league" with "another level" D-Rose.

But beating Miami will be tough, and incredibly exciting. Sometimes we don't enjoy what we are living. This Celtics team is great, and it's terrific to watch them competing.

Go Celtics!!!

The question should be who doesn't want the Bulls.

If you want an easy route to the finals then that means you don't think we can win without help. I want the team to play the best and beat the best on the way to a potential title.

Now I won't complain if the high seeds get knocked out and no one should, but you should always want to face the best to see if you actually are the best.

Maybe.  However, after watching the C's lose out on two titles largely due to KG and Perk's injuries, I'll take any path to #18 at this point.

I won't lie; I was cheering when Rose twisted his ankle today.  I wouldn't have done that two years ago; however, if we can be robbed of titles by injuries, I don't see why I should be upset if other teams are too.

Don't get me wrong, I will take any path necessary to get a title.

I just WANT to play the best if possible because I think we can beat anyone.

gotta finish this series and take care of the brons first, but honestly the bulls are scary! it would be a great series either way
lol no they're not do you see how they are struggling wit the pacers?? Boozer is overrated they have a terrible bench and they're still D Rose or bust
Are you kidding me?  Chicago has one of the deepest scariest benches in the league.  They are by far the best defensive bench in the league with a great mix of speed (Watson), shooting (Korver), experience (Thomas), athleticism and length (Brewer and Gibson)and youth and potential (Asik)

Oh, and it will also make it all the sweeter when Rose is the regular season MVP, but Rondo is the NBA Finals MVP.

Rose is 33/88 against the Pacers. That will only get worse when they play us.

For our team though?  Defensively there's no big difference between Miami and Chicago.  Offensively though the Bulls are more well rounded and in the post Boozer does more damage than Bosh, both of which are pillars of postseason play (Miami is your classic do-good-in-the-regular-season team as both Wade and Lebron can beat bad teams single-handily).

Also our team has proven multiple times they are capable of stopping LeBron.  Rose on the other hand...when he's really trying and taking it to the rim every time, I don't know if any team has proven they can stop him (we'll see).  And the Pacers have proven that you only have to breathe on him for the refs to send him to the line (in fact as the new poster boy for the league he's actually been getting better treatment than LeBron).

Lastly and most importantly, the Bulls' biggest weapon against us is rebounding.  Between Noah and Boozer they are perfectly capable of winning the boards by 20 (and you know they're gonna send at least 3 guys to crash the boards every offensive possession).  As many teams have proven, that's by far the easiest way to beat us.
