Nice little piece of news.  I don't think we'd have Shaq travel if there was no chance he'd play.  That doesn't mean he WILL play of course but it takes some credibility away from the "out for the season" rumor.

Sure does.

Quote
During Wednesday's practice at the Sports Authority Training Center in Waltham, Celtics coach Doc Rivers said that Shaq's ability to travel would suggest he might be able to play again as early as Sunday's Game 4 in New York.

"I'm not sure yet [if Shaq will travel]," Rivers said Wednesday. "It depends on what's best. If he's closer to playing -- you know how we’ve done it -- if you see him on the trip he’s really close."

Later, Rivers added: "If he goes on the trip, that means we think he'll play that Sunday."

[dang].  I don't think I can handle another 3 days of this speculation.  I really wish Doc and Danny would stop talking about this stuff, because it is just becoming unbearable.

If he were ready to go, he would be playing on Friday, so lets not get too excited yet.

I hope he does.  However, for some perspective, Shaq traveled with the team to Houston toward the end of the regular season.  He didn't play for another 2 1/2 weeks.

In other words, traveling doesn't mean that Shaq's return is imminent, although I'm sure we all are hopeful.

I feel being up 2-0 against the knicks AND having carmelo have a game like he did along with billups being out=let shaq rest, if he plays in this series let it only be for getting closer to game shape.  We want him healthy and nasty for next round

They most likely wouldn't comment about it if they weren't asked every 3 seconds.

Good point.  I am sure they keep saying this stuff just to shut the reporters up.  But it just causes them more grief in the end.

Yeah.  I've adopted a "Fool me once, shame on me.  Fool me twice, well, I'm an optimist.  Fool me for the 18th time, and then I'm going to post links" philosophy.

I would love for us to win tomorrow night (obviously) and put no pressure on him to return Sunday.

That give's him another few days to heal/practice for Tuesday's game (if there is a game Tuesday).

Good news, but I really don't even want him playing Sunday.

Yeah cause it's not like Shaq has never traveled with the team and then not played for another month or anything.

I guess we should expect him for LA.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
