is there anyone who would NOT reverse the Perk trade?
If we did NOT do the trade...who would've backed up Paul with Marquis going down?
From what I've read, CLE would've given us AP, but they wanted a 1st round pick for a 34 year old SG/SF?
Wuh?
I don't remember the 1st rounder. The rumor at the time was they just wanted Semih.
But, if Danny couldn't have pried loose an Anthony Parker-level small forward from SOMEWHERE in the league (Dahntay Jones was mentioned, although that could have been pure speculation)... if Danny couldn't have found SOME trade for a backup wing, then it really *is* time to take him down off the pedestal.
Hell, even taking back Posey and his bad contract would have been better. Could have given Indiana Nate and Quis and saved them a lot of $$ in the process. Could have pushed harder, maybe, for Corey Brewer (who is *exactly* who this team needed).
I mean, ****, convince me that Jeff Green is giving us any more than Sasha Pavlovic would be giving us in his spot. I know Green's talent is >>>>> Sasha's... how 'bout actual production?
Jeff Green's been in the league long enough where he ought to not be playing like a ****n rookie.
the_bird - like vermont_green mentioned, I'm sure that Danny kicked the tires on quite a few SFs out there. I'm not 100% sure of the particulars with CLE and AP, but evidently Danny didn't like it.
I think that as fans we only see 10-15 percent of what goes on behind the scenes. We are just not privy to all the info out there.
I trust Danny Ainge as the GM, and Doc as the coach. I trust that they are doing the best to keep this franchise competitive.
I know that we'd all love 10 pts, 5 rebs, 3 assists, 1 blk off the bench from Jeff. I just think we have to be patient.
What he gave us last night helped out and I'm thankful for it.
And you mean that you'd take back Posey and that contract? I love what Posey did for us back in 07-08, but have you seen him play lately?
