Pavlovic > Jeff Green: Discuss.

From what I've seen, (limited in both cases, granted) Pavlovic is a better player than Jeff Green.  And by far, a better defender.  Wouldn't he be a better match up vs Carmelo?  Green is getting abused on the defensive end, and looks like a deer in the headlights on the offensive end. 

I know that move would be a political disaster for the Celtics, given that this is the player we gave up Perk for, but it just might cost us this series!

I wonder if Danny would ever give Doc the green light to let this happen?

I believe Doc has a green light to play whomever he chooses.  Kind of like not playing murphy who was a much coveted buyout. 
imo there is no comparison between green & pavlovic
carmelo had his game where he hit everything, pierce didn't defend him well nor did green i doubt pavlovic would have done any better
there are only so many minutes we can have our bench out there unless they start to perform better
again though, no comparison

I think that when JGreen isn't giving you much, Pavlovic is a good option.  Pavlovic is a better defender, but Green has better offense.  Doc should be more flexible on his decisions.

Green SHOULD have better offence, but he's playing like a rookie in his first summer league (despite having logged a metric Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ton of minutes so far in his four-year career). 

The problem is, Green's confidence is already shot; bench him for Sasha, it's going to get even worse.  As much as I'm annoyed with him, I don't see how the team gets past Miami in Round 2 without improved play from Green. 

At this point, though...  yeah, it's hard to see how Green's playing any better than Sasha would.

I think overall, the bench was terrible last night. Baby -11 ... for example ... and he was the best of the bench.

I wouldn't mind a few minutes from Wafer either. Green seemed like he was about to get hot. If that second 3 pt attempt went in I think he might have turned a corner. He's definitely having a tough time getting into the flow. 15 minutes of playing time while surrounded by Ray, Paul & other long time vets. That's gotta be tough in terms of picking your spots. He should really just focus on crashing the boards and nothing else for now.

I agree. Green had a couple good plays, but overall
we were expecting more, and deserved to !
Von Wafer doesn't even appear to be a downgrade from
Green, and Sasha deserves a shot too.
Long term I'd like to see Green traded.. Wafer and Sasha
can rotate bench.. and we can get something quality for
Green's value.

As far as whom should play right now, that's Doc's call.
I can't even attempt to claim to know more than he does.

Pavlovic is not better than Jeff Green, there is no argument here. Jeff will have his breakout game... just watch.

Pav isn't better than Green.

The real issue is playing Green out of position : that man is not a 4 at this level

I would stick with Green. Pavlovic isn't good and Green is a much more talented player. Gotta stick with Green and hope he gains some confidence/gets more comfortable. I think eventually he will and will have a few big games for us. Can't panic and start putting Pavlovic in for Green, Murphy in for Davic, Wafer in for West, etc. Gotta let those three guys get into a rhythm.

I actually think BBD had the worst performance, he was out there the longest and made a ton of mistakes in help defense.

Yeah that Jeffries basket that almost cost us the game was 90% on Baby letting him go right by him (and 10% on KG for not fouling him).  But a bad game for Glen.

Green I thought was getting better looks from his teammates but struggling to knock them down.  His defense was just OK but I don't know if there's anyone alive who could've slowed Melo down last night.

I didn't understand why he was in during the final stretch. He was used primarily to help double Melo ; you'd think Doc would've gone with the quicker footed Green.

I get the feeling the OP has only seen Pavolic's game against the knicks at the end of the regular season.
