Zach Randolph heating up.  What was the tech for?  Grizzlies looking to take the lead again.

I called two upsets in the west this year.  How crazy would it be if I was right (good luck OKC)?

Meh, what we're seeing is bad for Celtics fans, I think.  If the Blazers over the Mavs and Grizzlies over the Spurs are the two major upsets of the playoffs this season, the Lakers will have an exceedingly easy path to the Finals.  Their only true challenge will come in the Western Conference Finals when they face the Thunder.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Anyway, I want the Lakers as our finals matchup (if we even get there) so we can even the score.

If I was Danny, I'd give 9mil a year to Marc Gasol. He's improving every year, and is HUGE. Tim Duncan is struggling in the paint against him.

Although it would be really nice if the Celtics defeated the Lakers in the Finals, if the Celtics were make it there I'd prefer for them to face any team over which they'd have home court advantage (really the only possibility is OKC or Portland).  The 2-3-2 format is such a killer for the road team.

Good luck prying him away from the Grizzlies.  A guy like Marc Gasol is going to get significantly more than 9 million a year.

I never feel like anything that happens in the West for the first couple rounds really affects us.  I've expected the Lakers in the Finals all year long and I really don't think the refs would let anything different happen.  OKC is their only real competition with SA being a close second (Memphis just owned them the last two regular season games that's why I picked them to win).

Dallas and Portland could both beat the Lakers without too much trouble also IMO.  I could see Memphis being able to win too with TA shutting out Kobe and a big series from Randolph.

Lakers are pretty easy to beat this year if you ask me and they've got some tough teams to beat out there.  I'm still expecting them but anything's possible.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

The thing with the Lakers is that I believe home court advantage is huge for them, which is why I want them to have to face the Spurs in the WCF and the Heat or the Bulls in the Finals.  I don't think they can win two straight series without HCA.

Why is homecourt advantage so important for LA?

Lakers are coming out of the West. Their 3 headed monster frontcourt is just too good.

We are just too good for the Lakers though. I really think we can win in 7. KG will not have 3 rebounds again

C's won't get there unless Shaq comes back. If he does and is effective I agree though. HCA will be a formality at that point.

Well, he's a FA this summer, and they're giving Zach Randolph 17mil. I don't know how it would work cap-wise, but if they extend Randolph they can't extend Marc for more than a salary-rise, kind of what happened with Perk and the Celtics...

I'm sure 4 year 40 mil would be a fair price. But the Celtics won't have the cap space, so it would take a trade at the deadline or summer of 2012. If he stays with Memphis, I don't think they'll trade him after what happened with his brother Pau.  ;D

By the way, he told to a Spanish news agency that when he was a child, his idol was Larry Legend. He'd look great in green, and we'd have the tough brother, hehehe.

Makes me kinda sad to see Timmy not be the force he has been in the past. He was averaging around 25PG in 2001 to like 13 this year. Don't get me wrong, he still has his games, but he's just not the consistent force he was. I know he's going to be 35 in a couple of days, but Ray's the same age, and he's playing some of the best ball of his career. Another amazing career winding down, I'd just love to see him go out with a bit more of a bang.

Spurs and Celtics have in common in that they just...don't...die

But with that said, Grizzlies might win this game though lol

Huge three pointer by Zach Randolph. That may seal it.
