who do you guys think would give the bulls a harder time, the magic or the hawks? We really missed out on an easy path by not getting the 1 seed

Neither team is a threat to beat Chicago.

Orlando would probably give the Bulls a tougher series though ... solely because of Dwight Howard.

I'd like to see Jason Richardson take Jamal Crawford down into the post.

J-Rich has a good post game and, eh, Jamal doesn't exactly play much defense.

I don't like Zaza as a high post passer. Dwight just ignores him when he is that far from the hoop and stops every passing lane within 15-18 feet of the rim.

Keep Zaza away from the ball. Weakside. Along the baseline.

I think Orlando can beat anyone, not only because of D12, they have better players around their superstar than Chicago: J-Rich, Turkoglu, Jameer...

they're struggling to beat Atlanta, but it doesn't mean anything.

I'd prefer to have Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah and Luol Deng.

I think there is a huge difference in Chicago's favour in terms of the quality of the supporting cast around their star players.

after what J-Rich has just done, I admit you have a very strong point here. I love Noah, but I'm not very high on Deng and Boozer.

Again, Orlando was a better team before their blockbuster trade, and seem very thin on the frontcourt. So you probably are right.

I hope the magic pull out this series then and give the bulls a fight, they don't deserve a free ride to the ECF

Yeah, I thought Orlando had Chicago's number before they made that trade.

Rashard Lewis was a major problem for the Bulls. Carlos Boozer wasn't going to be able to defend him out on the perimeter.

It would have been similar to the Conference Finals against the Cavs two years ago when Cleveland's vaunted defense feel apart because they couldn't defend Dwight in the post or cover Rashard on the perimeter. Their bigs were occupied and contributing very little in team defense.

The only plus for Chicago's defense over Cleveland's was that Luol Deng could cover Vince Carter ... unlike Mike Brown who choose to keep LeBron off of Hedo and forced 6-3 Delonte West to cover a 6-10 playmaker who picked their apart all night with precision passes over the top of a much smaller defender finding open three shooters all night long.

The Magic's defensive strength with Rashard Lewis (underrated defensive PF), Marcin Gortat (excellent defensive backup C), Mickael Pietrus (excellent defensive wing) would have also done a much better job of clogging the paint and forcing Chicago's perimeter shooters to beat them from outside.

However, now,  after the trade, I just don't like how Orlando matches up against Chicago. I think Brandon Bass makes them much easier to defend and his inability to cover Boozer effectively makes Chicago's offense far more of a threat. Add in their weaker overall defense and they are in trouble (against Chicago).

I really hate that trade. Ruined a good thing.

I don't even know what set J-Rich off there. It looked like any other hard foul that Dwight has gotten in this series, heck, not just the series but all year long.

Why the reaction? In such a tight game with so little time remaining when cooler heads are needed?

If anything Dwight hit Zaza after the initial foul. Not the other way around.

--------------------------------------------

Anyway, if J-Rich does get suspended, I don't think he'll be much of a loss for Orlando.

The truth is he has been a non-entity for most of this series. Joe Johnson is an incredibly tough matchup for him. Joe is just too big and too talented on both ends of the court for J-Rich. Especially given how J-Rich is used by Orlando's offense ... often on the periphery of the action and rarely as a go-to scorer.

Quentin Richardson should start in his stead. He is a more capable defender against Joe Johnson and gives Orlando almost as much spot up shooting as J-Rich does. There won't be much of a loss there.

The main loss isn't the downgrade of J-Rich to Q-Rich but the loss of Q-Rich as their main backup wing off the bench. Their other options are all undersized guards like Gilbert Arenas and JJ Redick. Makes Orlando vulnerable to Atlanta's size on the wing (J.Smith @ SF, Marvin, JJ).

If Atlanta's coach pointedly attacks that weakness when Q and Hedo are resting, they can get some joy there.

Bynum's injured. I don't know if it's bad, but he was grabbing his knee.
