So, do the Heat fire Spoelstra?  Adelman is still looking for work.

With so many close games in this series, you have to wonder if the outcome would of been different if Miami had a better coach.  Carlisle made some great adjustments and totally out coached Spoelestra (which was to be expected).

I'm sure Spoelstra will get fired in a few weeks

I don't think he should.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
I'm as happy about a win not involving the Celtics as can be possible.

It feels like a great justice has been done in the Universe.

Adelman would be a great replacement.

I think Riley will be very reluctant to hire someone outside of his coaching tree though ... he is legacy shopping at this stage of his career. Wants his imprint on it.

I think they keep Spoelstra for another year. Maybe fire him in-season next year if the same problems are there in the regular season. But I think they'll give him another roll of the dice before making a change.

I feel bad for Spoelstra, because I think he did an admirable job this year.  That said, I don't think he's a good fit for the Heat.  I think they need a guy with a lot of experience a large stature to command the respect of those guys.

In the absence of Phil Jackson, I think Adelman (or maybe a guy like Sloan?) would be best.

Lebron and wade pushed the limits of ISO ball this post-season and the law of averages just caught up to them...

they made some rediculous shots against the Celtics that had they not went in we couldve taken that series...same with the Bulls.

but Hey, this couldnt make me any happier...NO lakers, NO heat and Dirk/KIDD Finally getting their rings! ;D

I honestly think the best solution for the Heat as a team is Riley.

He's a strict, no-nonsense, disciplinarian kind of coach.  He'll put the players in their places, and I think that's exactly what they need to thrive.

They don't lack talent.  They lack cohesion.  I think Riley's approach would enforce that cohesion.

Having said that, I don't think Spoelstra should be fired.  He's a young coach who helped get the Heat through a couple of very good teams on their way to the Finals, and ultimately came up short against a heck of a team.  If I were Riley, I'd want to see how Spoelstra grows from this, and what he does differently to start the next season.  If he shows signs of changing nothing in the way he handles the team, then show him the door.  But if he shows growth and evolution in his abilities as a coach - and I think he will - then let him grow.

Even though I would be bummed to see him leave television, I think Jeff Van Gundy would be a good fit. His ties to Pat Riley make it a real possibility too. Sloan and Adelman would be good choices as well, though.

Yep my dad just told me that. They needed Riley for this not Spo. That's to people who said Doc had it easy because of the Boston big 3 uh it's not as easy is it?

Oh and did anyone see Wade/Bosh fall to their knees and had to be picked up like the actresses that they are. Please like Joakim said they're Hollywood as hell.

What a contract year for Tyson Chandler, huh? His $12 Million on the books this season turned out to be fair. I am really curious what he gets going forward although a lot of it hinges on the upcoming collective bargaining agreement. Despite that, he should be one of the more sought after free agents this offseason and get a good deal.

Also, chalk Chandler up as one of the few Presti blunders. That toe looked fine to me.
