It's hard not to have a soft spot for the Spurs.  They've been doing it the right way for a while.

That's how I feel. I would like Memphis to win, but the Spurs just have something that makes me root for them. I don't know what it is, but I have a soft spot for them and if they weren't struggling I would have loved to see Tim win a 5th ring if the Celtics aren't getting banner 18 this year.

I think I know what it is.  The Spurs have built their success around tough defense, team play, and good chemistry.  Sounds kinda like a team I know that plays in the North East.

You forgot to note humble stars who let their playing do the talking for them.

And an organization that makes a habit of getting the most out of overlooked role players.

Zach Randolph is going to hit a 3 out of this time out.

Add in a classy coach and a group of signature players. The Spurs just seem like a bunch of nice guys who don't play dirty and aren't divas. They're the anti-Lebrons and Carmelos of today. I think the main reason we all have a soft spot for them is because we see teams like them and Boston on decline, while teams like the Knicks and Heat proliferate.

Good additions.  How about excellent coaching?

Spurs survive.

It will be interesting to see how Memphis responds in the next game.

Well, looks like the Spurs will live to fight another day.  And all they had to do was make two 3 pointers in the last 3 seconds.

These playoffs have been really, really good so far.

You don't want to speak too soon twice in a matter of minutes, do you?

Yep. And I'm glad. I think MEM or OKC would potentially be a better opponent for LA, but I'm not ready to see San Antonio lose.

I want Spurs to go through...they had problems against Memphis in the regular season too...but I'm confident that if they make it to the next round..they will at least make it to the WCF too.

I would've liked Memphis' chances better if Rudy was healthy.
