Disclaimer: just for fun of the ridiculous variety.

The Boston skinny:

Rondo, Garnett, Jermaine O'Neil, Avery Bradley + draft picks
FOR
Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, filler

New lineup:

Nash
Allen
Pierce
Green
Howard

OK, tear it apart, but you know it's entertaining! That would be the best shooting backcourt in history (Nash + Allen), Howard is the type of center that would allow Jeff Green to operate at the "4" spot. Our defense would still be top notch (look at what Orlando does with Howard) and our offense would be pretty amazing...

I like getting Howard, but I'd rather keep Rondo than Nash.

We're old now...so yeah.

Plus I kind of have doubts about Nash being able to lead a team after his Mavericks years.

There would be no way that trade would ever happen because it leaves the other teams in shambles. I mean the Suns having Rondo and Gilbert...talk about polar opposites. That would only happen if David Kahn was someone a GM for both teams and we were in the Twilight Zone.

KAHN!

  • Rondo = Good
That backcourt would have to break down at some point in the season . . . and it would be pretty poor defensively, though Howard would make up for that somewhat.

That's nothing to say of the fact that the Magic would never make that trade with us.

The guys that complain about Rondo not keeping his man in front of him wouldn't survive watching a full game of Nash's "defense".
