Jeff was asked to play too many different roles and not the one specific role that would allow his game to flourish?

What I am saying is this team now just refuses to play great anymore. They still are and they still can do it.

It is just that they don't want to play and fight anymore. Say all the stats you want to, Perk not on the court Perk on the court, his production, before and after, etc etc, but definitely, as a matter of factly, believe all you want, but the Perk trade really affected badly everyone in this team.

They are throwing in the towel already. This playoff's gonna be short.

Well since you've managed to insult those who disagree with you, I'd like to ask you a few questions:

1)  Perkins was on the team, and healthy, the 2nd half of last season.  Why didn't that "special brotherhood" prevent the team from going .500 for that entire half??

2)  How did this "special brotherhood" benefit the Celtics the 1st half of this season when Perkins wasn't even on the court??

3)  How is it that with Shaq starting at center the Celtics were the 2nd best 5-man unit in the entire league??  

4)  What recent history can you show me that Shaq does not play, or is not healthy, in the playoffs??  He consistently sits our regular season games, but always shows up for the playoffs.  

I personally find it "pathetic" that you've given up on this team already.  You've jumped off the team wagon before 1 game of the playoffs have started, so I think you might as well relegate yourself to posting only in offseason and/or 2011-2012 threads.

Kobe was the 2nd option on a team where the 1st option puts up 25 shots, and the third option was starting to take over as 2nd option because he started with the ball.

By some of the posters standards, you'd think this 'special brotherhood' brought us 4 championships already.  Just look at the mediocrity from last year when Perkins was around and their theory is wiped clean.

Again, here lies the biggest problem of all... banking on Shaq to play and help us win in the playoffs. You should really listen to yourself here. You really believe he can play and assert himself in the playoffs?

And please do not give me stats on "Perkins on the bench in the start of the year whilst Shaq was playing and we were winning" cause that doesn't mean a thing or two compared to the Playoffs! Shaq was supposed to be back up to Perkins! And that's a fact! Period.

And who replaces Perkins again in the starting 5 to handle our 1-2 best defending inside paint duo in the whole league complimenting KG again?

To me, we have 4 of the supposed best players in the NBA, we really don't need some "5th guy" to rely on to win games.

We should be able to dominate regardless of who is playing that 5th spot.

Extremely flawed reasoning. If that was true, Miami would have won 82 games.
