I'll have to agree with him here, except I would go one further: I don't think they're getting out of the first round this year. From what I've seen to end the season and to start the playoffs, their defense isn't good enough, and their bigs aren't having the effect on the game that is necessary for them to win.
Eh . . . I guess I have more faith in the Lakers than you do. Especially without Aaron Gray, the Hornets are awfully small and thin in the frontcourt. I really don't see them holding up against the Lakers over a 7 game series and actually winning 4. Chris Paul isn't going to play like a mad man in every single game, either (not with his lingering knee issues).
That said, if the Lakers get knocked off in the second round I wouldn't be totally shocked. Then again, I don't think the Mavs match up with the Lakers very well at all.
In any case, I think CP3 and the Hornets really exposed the Lakers' glaring weakness today. If you have a fast, offensively talented point guard and a couple bigs who are beefy enough to clear out space down low, the Lakers will have trouble. That's bad news for the Lakers since they'll have to face at least one of OKC, Denver, SA, or Chicago at some point on their way to a three-peat.
