assuming shaq and west are out...where does the bench end? i figure baby, arroyo, green and krstic would be the only ones in the game
We might see Doc go ten deep against New York with Von Wafer as the 10th man.

Jeff Green will be a valuable option as a power forward against the Knicks small ball lineups. So Doc may choose to bring in another backup wing. Krstic's minutes will likely be slashed in that scenario.

I expect a tough series, and as long as they win I don't care how many games it goes.

I'm petrified of this series.  I don't think the Knicks can win a game 7 here...but I do think that they can steal one in Boston early in the series and win in 6.

The Knicks will play this series to outscore the Celtics and I'm so afraid that it could actually happen this time around considering the Celtics have THE...not one of...THE worst offense in the nba since the trading deadline

C's in 4 or 5.

Billups can't cover Rondo, so we'll see a ton of Douglas on Rondo and Billups on Allen in a cross matchup type of situation. This will limit Landry Fields minutes out of matchup necessity, which will hurt since he is the better player.

The C's have two players that can matchup and defend Amare and Melo. KG & JO vs Amare and Pierce & Green vs Anthony

This is a series that actually having Green is better than having Perk. We really don't need Perk's low post D, as much as we need Green in this one. With Perk at the 5, the Knicks could counter by going small and puting Amare at the 5, with no fear that Perk would take advantage of his size offensively. On the other hand, Shaq & JO are much better offensively and could take advantage of  Amare's notoriously soft D.

The C's offense has been struggling and the Knicks offer a perfect matchup to regain our timing and execution. We have two big advantages in this series-size & depth. We need to take advantage of these and not playing into the Knicks hands by going small and putting Green & Baby at the 4 & 5.

Boston in 6. After that I think we're going down in 6.

Game 1: Celtics
Game 2: Celtics
Game 3: Knicks

I'm thinking we see this as our rotation for the 1st round...

PG: Rondo/West(hopefully)/Arroyo
SG: Allen/Wafer
SF: Pierce/Green
PF: Garnett/Davis
C: S. O'Neal (hopefully)/J. O'Neal/Krstic

  • Rondo = Good
Celtics in 7.  It will more closely resemble the series two years ago against the Bulls than any of us would like.  The Knicks will be a tougher opponent than any of us (including the Celtics) anticipate.

If we hve Shaq back we take care of business in 5 and get rolling, without him this goes 7

My biggest concerns :  Chauncey vs Rondo (terrible matchup for us historically), Melo and Stoudemire could go off or get big help from the refs, the atmosphere at MSG in games 3 and 4 could swing the series.

With that said I expect the C's to win 4-1, or 4-2 at the most.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
should do it 4-0
or the Knicks might get one at home but I doubt it.
Celtics will be fired up just like the last time they played them. Should be a walk in the park.
They have 2 scorers. Think of them like a poor mans Miami with a decent point guard and no defense.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
