I thought this was a really weird quote from Rondo:

Quote
"It's not going to be on the Big Three, or Shaq, or J.O., or me," Rondo said. "It's going to be on those (new) guys why we win it all ... the main thing is you have to bring it every night. We're the Celtics, and teams are going to give us their best shot. I think it's a different type of level you have to bring when you play for the Celtics, and right now we're trying to get those guys to play at that level every day -- not just in the games, but in practice as well."

Link.

It seems like he's criticizing the new guys for their lack of effort, while exempting himself and the starters.  Very strange, since pretty much the entire team's play has been spotty.

He isn't the first to say this. I'm pretty sure Doc did, and possibly KG.

Regardless of who said it first, considering his disappearing act in some games of recent note, its a bit of the whole pot/kettle thing coming from him.

Also plays into the sense of his lingering bitterness over the Perk trade.

Also sounds like there's some doubt in how far he feels we may go, and like he's already got an excuse
"7ft PG. Rondo leaves and GUESS WHAT? We got a BIGGER point guard!"-Tommy on Olynyk

Im kind of numb to all of this right now. I definitely dont like it but I dont want to  get worked up either way. I thought this team wanted to try for the best possible record this year and it looked like they were doing that.
So now it is either they cruised for the last 20 plus games or they just arent good anymore with this new roster of players for whatever reason.

Im just going to wait until the playoffs. I want to see chemistry, cohesiveness, defensive effort for 4 quarters, ball movement on offense...you know all the things that have been missing for stretches of games this last quarter of the season.

I dont care what Rondo has to say. This team's mediocre play has made me indifferent to anything they say.
