Is the over-playing of Big Baby another example of Doc Rivers' problems with rotations? Since he's more comfortable with BBD, he plays him more, even though many think Jeff Green should be getting more minutes? Alternatively, is there some genius here? Thoughts anyone?

I think you answered your own question... I think he's saving the other bigs' legs (Nenad,JO and KG), or he's trying to make "the biggest loser" out of Baby (no pun intended).

yes. this is a huge problem. baby is playing well beyond his best role, which is 15-20 mpg of pure energy. his minutes need to be cut back, and his role needs to be redefined. early this season, pre-injuries (shaq and marquis), he was pretty awesome and was possibly 6th man of the year. since then, he's been playing too many minutes and taking too many shots at the expense of others. it's one thing if baby takes a lot of shots in the flow of the offense. it's another when he's a black hole on offense, which he has become, partly because he's going into hero mode.

I don't see Doc having a choice until (or if) Shaq returns.  I think Baby is a bit gassed.

A bit?   He's been playing like crap for over a month.  Also am wondering how great his conditioning is.  Of course he did this last year and has a history of coming up big in the playoffs.

We'll see I guess.

& like I said on another thread.. It frustrates me that the ball ALWAYS seems to find its way to Glen Davis at the end of the shot clock for a jumper, ALWAYS.

I wanted to see a little of troy Murphy in these past two games. I am just getting really upset with baby latley. He doesn't take great shots, and when he actually passes the ball its not a good one and it slows the whole offense up..

Yup, Baby is a big part of the reason J.Green can never get it going... Baby is a black hole in his currect 30 mpg role.

I think Big Baby's minutes, just like Greens minutes at the 4 have been an issue of necessity.  They just have not had enough healthy bodies up front, forcing Davis to play too many minutes.

This will be a huge benefit if Shaq comes back.  If they can get 40 minutes from Shaq and JO (and Krstic if there is foul trouble), and then 32-35 from Shaq, that leaves 21-24 minutes for Davis, which is just about right.  It will allow him to play with more energy, and also give them more flexibility with matchups.

Of course it does.  At the end of the shotclock, the ball finds the guy who the defense wants it to find.  So, it always ends up in Davis or Rondo's hands.  That's just basketball 101.  The problem is, the C's need to find ways so the shotclock isn't winding down all the time.

Well Rondo frequently decides to start the offense with 10-12 seconds on the shot clock, meanwhile for the 1st 12 seconds of the shot clock he stands at the top of the key brushing and pointing other open options away trying to make the spectacular play only to eventually get it to Glen Davis for an airball or a blocked shot.

I agree.  Basically, he is always looking for Ray coming off picks, and it just isn't working.  I am hoping a couple days of practice will help them to mix things up a bit more, to get out of that habit.

Yea man, they better get it together. I miss Perks illegal screens :( lol.  Shaq is going to help Ray bigtime though which is good. Having Shaq set you a screen is going to be much more productive then a Krstic screen.

I cringe at the thought of glen davis in this 30mpg role.  As has been previously discussed, his midrange is below league average yet he thinks that's his shot.

Glen davis should not be shooting the ball when hes on the court with the starting 4.

Jeff Green can't play the 4.  He gets absolutely dominated when he tries to play interior defense.

We moved all of our talented bigs other than KG - he has no choice but to play Big Baby

I'd like to see how Green looks at the 4 when he can play alongside KG or JO at the 5.

I think the only 4 time i have seen him play id along side Davis/Krstic at the 5. Imagine if we had to watch Posey at the 4 playing alongside Davis and Powe at the 5. That would have been awful too.
