In short, as soon as I saw the casual passes, the walking up the floor, etc; I realized then (1st quarter) that the Cs were not ready to compete against the top team in the East.

I guess now-and-then you need a good beating, to make you realize that you are not all that and you need to focus harder.

….and oh boy, didn’t we look soft?  Wow

I'm a bit surprised that the Celts didn't make this a little more of a statement game.  They definitely coasted.  There were some pretty horrible rebounding nights by Celts bigs.  Davis had 3 in 29min, Green 2 in 21min, Jermaine 0 in 17min.  That's pretty pathetic and not going to get it done.

Agree with the casual comment; not sure about the soft one though.  I thought the turning point in the game was the 2 lazy passes by Pierce on back to back possesions in the 3rd that led to 2 easy baskets for CHI.  The game was close before that, but the TO's sparked a run that got the lead over double digits.

JO may not have gotten any boards but he 2 or 3 nice tap outs; you have to consider too they're going up against Noah who is one of the better rebounders in the game today and Boozer who averges a career double double.

People look at the final score and think the Bulls dominated.  In truth we lost because we couldn't hit any shots.  Pierce and Ray missed on open looks, Rondo blew a layup, and KG was missing his bread and butter turnaround jumpers.  81 points is not even good enough to beat the bottom of the barrel teams; every team in the league averages over 90 PPG.

We didn't play well at all, I was surprised how close the game was in the 1st half.

I was also surprised we didn't get crushed by 30.

Nenad Kristic, a crippled JO, Big Baby, and a crippled KG...that's out post.  Of course we're soft

So everyone's a cripple now?

KG looked ok int he first half....then he reallly seemed to stiffen up as he has several times this season.  He just can't plant and go very quickly conistantly

JO may get it back...he actually looks to be in better condition than KG.  Im more worried about him hitting a conditioning wall than anything

Maybe it is simpler than that. Without Perkins, no one is afraid anymore and the Celtics have lost their swagger. I dislike making this argument, since I tend to be a data/numbers guy, but it seems like all of the Celtics opponents, at least, think so. . .

Yup.  Trade one of the most physical big men in the League for a 7th-man (who happens to be probably the least-physical 6'9" player in the league), and you wonder why the team looks soft?

The Celtics missed a lotta easy shots in the 2nd quarter that coulda turned the game around. When I had to leave with them down like 4 or so in the 2nd quarter, and came back around the 4th quarter to see they were down 5 at half, that told me they coasted.
