McGee good be helpful but we need to have him and JO at the same time. That'll really shore things up so we dont have to depend so much on shaq anymore.

Mcgee is a good weak side shot blocker but he is awful at defense.  When it comes to guarding his own man he is an epic fail.  The guy has long arms thats it, he has no bball IQ.  Stay away from Washingtons prospects except for John Wall, who in my opinion has a ton of talent but is gonna have an injury plagued career.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
no thanks he has pretty much hit his ceiling.
No bball IQ just freakish athelete.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

No he hasn't.  I hate when people say players have reached their ceiling.  Big men can take 5 years to develop and this kid is only in his 3rd year.  Pierce has improved some things in his game later in his career.  It's never too late to improve.
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

Chris, good comparison with Dalembert.  Maybe McGee can keep improving but for now he is very much like Dalembert.

As for the triple double... who cares?  I take no stock in someone's fluke big game.  Jeff Green had a 15 rebound night but he gets 2 or 3 every other night.  Tony Delk had a 50pt game.  The list is endless.

put him around our veteran core and he'll likely straigten out - Marbury did; Nate did.  No reason to think he wouldn't

but

we don't have the tools to get him without breaking up our core I don't think

Marbury and Nate definitely straigtened out but they weren't very good either.

Restricted free agent come the 2012 season. Right now, Rondo, Pierce, and Bradley are the only players on the books past 2012-2013 season. You know, the Dwight Howard yr.

Ainge has set himself up wide open for a free agent run. I personally think he tries for Howard, Chris Kaman, or a McGee. Preferably Howard or Kaman of course.

I like Deandre Jordan better... But those are defenitely the type of guys the Celtics should aim for in the offseason. Long athletic center with long arms who can sky and finish above the rim... sign me up.

McGee or Jordan along with Rondo and Green, now we're talking!

I don't mind Jordan as well. Lots of options for Ainge. If he wants Howard, or is making a run for him, I don't believe he signs Green. Even if he doesn't land Howard, the 2012 free agent class is stacked. He can easily pay another big, and use his first round picks to find a 3 man off the bench going forward. He's wide open come 2012.

I like McGee, I would much rather DeAndre jordan though.
This offseason is going to be an interesting offseason to say the least. The lockoout situation, etc. We still have our core 4 locked up, and Jeff Green.....I think Shaq and J'O will play next year, but can you really rely on them shaq will 40.

I think you rely on them for 1 more year and then hit up the stacked 2012 free agent class for someone better than Shaq, JO, or Perkins.

If the 1st rd Clipper pick hits that year, then that brings even more options.

As a running big next to rondo its an idea.  I still think a hard push for howard is possible with what danny has set us up for
