Like Jeff said recently, I'd like to see fewer jumpers from Baby. His turnaround/fallaway jumper from the post is still solid though, his post-up game is pretty good now (not great, but good), and he's always been a beast on the offensive boards.

After the first few games that we were riding high on how well Krstic fit into the offense he became allergic to scoring within five feet, but he still occasionally shows that he has great range for a big man.

So I think a lot of problems for Krstic and Big Baby could be solved if Doc had Krstic set picks on the perimeter and parked Baby down low on the block, at least while they're on the floor at the same time.

This would also open up space down low for Green to abuse smaller SF's on the post as well.

Thoughts/ideas?

I thought Baby has been playing real well lately actually. He's been passing up those long jumpers, taking less (bad) shots and running more of the team offense, and just been real solid overall. Krstic looked real good yesterday. If he can give us that effort off the bench every night I'll be a happy camper. I agree though, I like Krstic's jumper and Baby when he's in the post, but last night was a pretty healthy combo between Green, Baby, and Krstic

BBD has been hitting that outside jump shot consistently all year.  Just because he hit a little slump after returing from that 1-2 week injury people are overlooking and forgetting how effective that shot has been.  He's wide open for most of them because either teams are not focusing on him as the 3rd/4th option or the other 4/5 is manning the paint.

Krystic never really had a slump to me. He's only had 3 legitimately "bad" games since coming, and I think part of that was finding his new role after BBDs return.  If he was consistently given the same minutes and touches that he got upon arrival, I don't think his production would have trailed off. Last game he was great.

It depends on how you define "consistently".  He hits 16-to-23 footers at about 35% efficiency, and he's been around that number for most of the year (and it's in line with his recent averages over the past four seasons, as well.)

To me, BBD taking long jumpers is a terrible offensive decision based upon other options, but the Celtics obviously disagree.

Having about 20 threads saying "I would like to see Glen Davis do xxx" is really getting old now. We got the point, can we please move on? Thanks.

My favorite Baby offensive move is the baby hook he does at times. Too bad he rarely uses it. I have little problem with Baby's jumper when he's open, but he shouldn't be taking them as if he were the first option on the floor. And for that matter, he shouldn't be taking them from so far away.

Yeah, his 10-to-15 foot jumper is actually pretty good (44.9%).  Unfortunately, he only takes about one shot per game from that distant, as opposed to five shots per game from 16-to-23 (again, 35.0%).

Agreed the only reason I see them constantly going to him and that jumper is they want him to be confident knocking it down as in the playoffs he will have that open shot all day, which should explain why it's bad. You know teams are going to dare Baby and Rondo to take those jumpers.

He drives me a little crazy. He's wide open, he could move forward 1 step and still be open and have an easier step. He's probably hoping to hit enough long shots to get the go-ahead to start shooting threes.

I think the biggest change we'll see for both is fewer minutes.  I'd love to see Krstic play less than 5 mpg in the playoffs and BBD less than 20 (ideally closer to 15, all at the backup 4).

I'm more worried about Ray Allen.

He's nothing without screens.

I think Baby's poor play has a lot to do with how poorly the Big 3 are playing.

When our starters are struggling, it magnifies what Baby doesn't do for this team.

And what does Baby not do for this team....be a star.

When Baby is left to be a star or to carry this team...it won't work.

The only reason why Kristic or Baby are good is because of how we play off of our Big 4.

If our Big 4 stink, or are taken out of the game....we are left with role players trying to do too much.

Krstic is a mediocre player who will be gone after this season ends

Big Baby is simply playing too many minutes.

Baby's been playing around 29-30 minutes per game all season....the month he played the least minutes (26) per game, was his worst statistical month!
