It's refreshing to follow a Celtic who is enjoying the attention and stepping up to the challenge after such a long lay off and just playing basketball.

He doesn't seem timid or worried that hes screwing up the sets like the new guys.

I can't say I've been a massive fan of him and the money he gets, but I can't really fault his return.

Your thoughts?

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

He's looked pretty good in the last 3 games. Last night he picked up a handful of rebounds and was pretty active on the boards.

I'd like to see Doc play J.O. more and Glen Davis less.

Nonetheless, Jermaine has now become a vital part of the team's quest for 18.

I expected JO to come back as either "good JO" (the one we saw earlier this year after his 2nd comeback) or "bad JO" (the first one we saw, looking bad physically and mentally) and so far he has been "great JO". Obviously he doesn't play much but in his limited minutes he's been very productive, especially on D, and it's a good sign to see him show more aggressiveness on offense (like the pass he received from Rondo yesterday driving to the hoop). I think practice will only help him get more confident.

But so far, so good, especially after such a long absence. If his health remains good (and it looks like it will, crossing my fingers though), he can only improve in the game.

i don't want to toot my own horn, but i've always remained positive about JO ever since the signing. i thought he'd fit in well because he's been through some real battles and sincerely wants to win. injury was definitely a problem, but i was very excited when i heard news about him returning.

i would also want to see more of JO and less BBD, but i think baby steps (no pun intended) is the way to go. hopefully come playoff time, he'll have taken on a much bigger role. playing good D, rebounding, hustle and taking smart shots, that's what i expected to see from him. if i had to settle for a 9man rotation and everyone was healthy, i'd go for the Big4+Shaq, with JO/Green/West as the primary subs, and then BBD or Krstic to get the extra big's minutes.

I see where you are coming from about more JO and less Baby. But you could see yesterday that somebody have definitely gotten through to baby.  He didn't settle for jumpers and kept the ball moving leading to better shots.

JO did say his knee was sore yesterday for the first time since his return.  Let's hope it doesn't become something significant.

Not bad for a player who wasn't going to play a single minute this season.

I really hope he and his brother Shaq can stay on the court for 10-15 minutes each game. That would be enough for #18.

Go Celtics!!

he didn't say his knee was sore. he said his body was sore.

"J.O. did feel sore, but it wasn't the surgically repaired knee that felt sore, just his body in general. In fact, since the surgery, J.O. has much more confidence in his knee and doesn't expect to feel any discomfort in it from here out."

He looks good as of now, but I have zero expectations that he he will stay healthy and consistently contribute.  If he does, it's a bonus.  A much needed bonus at that.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He's looking great. His movement and confidence in his legs is fantastic.
On top of his improved physical health, this guy has something to prove.
Miami shipped him out to get Chris Bosh after his terrible playoffs last year and he wants redemption and wants to prove that he is still one of the better centers in the NBA now that his knee is fixed.
I love the thought of him and Shaq coming in for 15-20 mins each during the playoffs and just putting the hammer down on the defensive end whist bodying up and giving us 2nd chance shot opportunities under the rim.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I've always been a big fan of JO and was really big on the signing this off season. It was a dissappointment to see him nagged by injuries so early in the season but I was always pretty confident that he would come back from the post season run. That's really why we signed him anyway, he is good enough to fit in with the Veterans, has a role knows it and will fit in fine when it comes down to it. I think he would have had a great season if it wasnt for the re injury and now that he feels completely healthy with the repaired knee I can only imagine how happy and confident he is... Good for him and Im looking forward to seeing more of him as the season winds down and the playoffs start.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
He looked comfortable and fluid running up and down the floor yesterday. Hopefully he'll only get better with time. Hopefully the 14/7 JO is still somewhere in there.

He does look comfortable....but he hasn't exactly been contributing much positive.  If he really wants to make the team better, he needs to start setting good screens for Ray
