Congratulations!  It is a real blessing.  My wife and I had our first about 14 months ago, a boy.  He is such a joy.  It was tough at first, he was not a sleeper, but things are good now.  You are in for the ride of your life, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Family planning has brought us some good news! I'm so pumped right now I can't even sleep. Amazingly, I feel even closer to my wife (which I didn't think was possible).

What an exciting feeling!

Yeah so, because of complications that can arise within the first couple of months, we've elected to keep it between us for now. Thankfully, I have this community to share with to settle the temptation of calling all of my family and close friends.

I'd love to hear stories of other posters 1st go around.

Congrats, I got three little boys of my own, Achilles, Apollo and Aisaac. It's always hard to say, but there is something special about your first born. I love all three of my kids equally, but the first is the easiest, he gets the most time alone, everything is new and exciting, every new sound he makes, or facial expression is like the greatest part of your day. The love is there with your second third etc etc kids but the unknown and the excitement factor is way higher with your first born so soak it up! My advice is if it's a boy you gotta have another kid right away, I know a bunch of people with kids that are the same age as mine and they are the only child. They are all really whiny and demanding, and total pansies I love that my kids have eachother to play with every day, they are best friends and it made em tough because they are always fighting
