We took Maroney in the first round and that failed.

But Ingram is a special player, and a special person.

Mark Ingram plays "Mad" and he's the type of player to inspire an offense.

He will give us something that Perk gave the Celts which is hard to describe.

I see Emmit Smith in the making I really do. Both are listed at 5'9" and 215 pounds.

Can you Imagine how affective Brady would make Ingram and Vice Versa.

Tom isn't quite John Elway Old, when Elway won his two Titles, but he will be soon, and an Elite Running game was just what Elway needed to win those Titles.

Also Bruschi just commented on how the Defense is already very young, and how it's not a good idea to have all young kids playing defense.

I still say go Defense after Ingram with a DL Cameron Heywood, and then OLB Justin Houston.

But this is the Year to get the Stud Running back, and I can't believe we have a chance to Draft Ingram.

Oh and Emmit ran a slow 40 time when he came out somewhere around 4.6 to 4.7 and that lowered his draft stock.

Ingram ran a 4.63 but had the fastest 10 yard split out of all the RB's

It goes to show you that balance, Vision, toughness, are more important that out and out speed.

PS I love RB Mikel Leshoure also, but has character issues. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKhTrxk4Nss

I'm not a huge fan of using 1st round picks on RB.  I feel like you can always find quality RBs later in the draft or as FA.

I'd much rather see them fill needs in the OL or DL with their first rounders.   They'll probably end up moving one of the picks anyways.

I'm not a huge fan of draftin a RB with a first either.

But have you seen Ingram play? He's awesome. A perfect fit with the Pats too.

He will be a top five Rb in the NFL within two years.

If you pair that with Brady game over.

If he's available at #17 the Pats will probably take him, would be my guess.  But I doubt he's available

Even though I think he's a fine RB who will probably do well in the league I feel like between the Law Firm, Kevin Faulk, and Woodhead we don't need a RB in the first round.  I'd wait till the 4th and try to pull an Arian Foster or something. Target a guy like Evan Royster or something. There's just too many places on the team in shambles right now...like QB....ha! Gotcha

I like De'Rel Scott in the later rounds... I like Ingram too but LawFirm is capable enough to where you can take another position in the 1st.  We should trade up and get Von Miller.

The Pats need help at OL and DL more than RB, but both those positions can be addressed with the next two picks if Pats take Ingram at #17.  Again, I don't think he'll be available, but if he is, and the Pats select him, there is still ample oppty to address the other positions of need.

Fair enough. It definitely depends a lot on what's available and what's not

The Patriots offense: Ranked 2nd in NFL
The Patriots defense: Ranked 28th in NFL

Other than and offensive lineman to be an insurance policy for Light/Mankins, I see them going with defense all the way.

Again Brew-ski said he thinks normally we would trade a pick for a veteran but we can't due to lockout rules.

 Here are my top Targets.

JJ Watt D.E. 6'6" 290 athlete Fast Strong

Cam Heywood D.E. 6'5" 295 Son of Craig Ironhead Hewyood.

Mark Ingram RB  5'9" 215 Emmit Smith all over again.

Mikel Leshore RB 6'0 228 A turbocharged young Steven Jackson.

Von Miller OLB No way we get him, too bad.

Justin Houston OLB 6'3" 265 Too big, fast, and strong for the Pats to draft.

Mike Pouncey Center, Guard. 6'5 303 Twin Brother of Steelers Center Maurkice, Sure to be a ten year starter and he's a great kid.

Rahim Moore S Chung can't cover. And this kid is a Ball Hawk.

If we came I way with two or three of these players we will have done well IMO.

Couldn't agree more.

I def. think DL is the biggest need for the Pats, but the draft is the deepest in years at the DL, which is one reason I could see the Pats addressing DL with another one of their first three picks.

Edit 1: Also, regardless of who is available, the beautiful thing is that the Pats are very well positioned to make some great picks.

Edit 2: Can't wait for the draft.

I love the idea of targeting a top tier back.  It may not end up being Ingram but I would love it if we got him.  I know the defense was a bigger weakness but rookies rarely come in and contribute on D.  A mature rookie back can.  We got that D-lineman from Buffalo, that should help more than a rookie at that position.

We have a lot of early pick so we can take a back early and still address other needs.

Personally with Logan unhappy and Neal retiring and Light getting old and Koppen starting his 8th year I kinda want to draft some big strong and violent horses.

I like Wisnewski and Pouncey. They've both played guard and center and could learn the ropes at guard for a year before taking over for Koppen.

A DE or LB might be nice too.

If you know of a great player you would like the Pats to draft post a video here.
