Ok, decent job extending after letting them creep a bit closer.  Not that pretty, but we should have this one.

Ha, the other thing that sucks is that I have tix for the 76's game on Tuesday, and I was psyched cause I never got a chance to see Shaq play live. I've been to 5 games this year and he hasn't played in any of them--foiled again!

Holy crap, there's only 6 games left in the regular season? This post season is coming up way too fast...although I'm sure our guys feel differently.

Good win, we needed it. Strong 2nd half except for the turnovers.

Hoping we get good news (and quickly) on the Shaq front. Good night!

WOOT!! I am so relieved we got the win.  Let's hope we have good news on Shaq soon.

I'd prefer a 66-74 game season personally.

Nice Win, C's!

30 assists means good ball movement, and we out-boarded the Pistons. And most important is that no starter played more than 32 min, apparently.

I'll take it.

So far, 3 wins better than last year.

One nice benefit is that the starters minutes were down from the usual, meaning the bench got more minutes.  Well, could have got more minutes (dang you , big baby!)

Celtics still are not very sharp out there and continue to make too many mistakes. I liked the fact that Glen Davis worked hard on the defensive end and tried to be a presense down low. I dred his matchup against Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah (or Perhaps Dwight Howard) and if we get that far against Gasol and Bynum. Jermaine O'Neal and Shaq O'Neal cannot replace Perkins though. Jeff Green brings some good things and we have to hope Nenad and Troy Murphy are available.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

And that's despite a major trade and major injuries...
That gives me reason to be happy.

On the other hand, its not enough for a team to improve on itself.  The key is improving *more* than the opponents, and there is no denying that Miami and Chicago improved a whole heck of a lot from last year to this year.  It remains to be seen how the Cs stack up against those two teams, but I look forward to the measuring stick coming up! (ie: the playoffs).

  • It's not hard to work hard.
Real quiet in here, we must be playing well...
Oh don't worry, the chorus of "boos" will start up soon enough.
I suspect Green will get his fair share of negative comments tonight...

Yeah, I'm actually surprised it took people this long to start turning on Green.  Krstic being out probably helps.
I'm actually surprised we haven't seen more "we miss Nate" threads.  After all, one could make a better argument that the Cs slump was due to trading Nate than to trading Perk (the Cs played fine when Perk was out the first part of the year).

The Celtics don't really miss Nate (at least this year's version, who turned out to be injured)...but I do personally miss him! He was bonkers but was 100% into the team at all times, and I liked rooting for him.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."

The best thing in the game was that Ray looked like he had fun again (and he made his shots). If that means the end of his slump, I'm very happy.

You know, now that the 1st seed is pretty much out of reach and #2 is potentially slipping away--I would rest my guys for a few games and let our bench try to win some games. I don't mean sit the starters for 6 games, but give one or two guys off a night until the first round.

why are you wasting time with yet another scheme you imagine will help this team get ready for the playoffs ... it's over.

Danny bet the house on a 39-yr.old 300 lb. injury-prone player and traded away our starting center all because he wanted to find a replacement for Marquis Daniels. how stupid is that.

now, Perk is healthy and playing every game, while Shaq and Kristic are hurt. never mind that Kristic and Green are soft as vanilla custard and do not fit this team's style in any way - you know, square pegs in a round hole ?
For the same reason you bother posting.

just a vain attempt on my part to somehow vent my overwhelming anger and frustration at Danny Ainge and to reconcile my broken heart over the loss of yet another championship opportunity thrown away. sorry i took it out on another fan.
