Let's just hope he's not back in Boston next year

Weird

Why is that weird? I also don't see any role for a washed up Troy Murphy on this team.

While Murphy has looked out of place in the very few minutes we have seen him --you do realize he is coming off of a back injury, and had not played in months.  Statistically in my fantasy basketball he was ranked 54th coming into this year.  With the age of Shaq and JO, the lack of length for Glen and now Nenad's knee it seems to me we should take a long look at Murph for next year--if his body is done then we don't want him if it is just rustiness and a lack of confidence from not playing then let's give it more time.

I'm concerned about Troy Murphy's work ethic and attitude.  When he returned from injury with the Nets, Avery Johnson said he felt that Troy wasn't in great game shape.  Instead of accepting that and working to get into condition, Murphy pouted and publicly called out his coach.  In the meantime, he lost any court time he was going to  get to the young stud, Derrick Favors, and the coach's dream, Kris Humphries.

Since becoming a Celtic, he hasn't looked in particular good shape or very engaged, either.

Having said all that, if he comes back from that ankle sprain soon, he should get a real opportunity to turn things around as a Celtic.  My expectations are real low right now, so it wouldn't take more than a solid 15 minutes a night where he grabs some defensive rebounds and rotates defensively to start to win me over.  Hitting some long range shots would be a bonus.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

We better all hope he gets healthy enough to play 10 minutes a game productively, because without Krstic we're going to need him.

Clearly the Celts need to buy medical insurance for their bigs in bulk.

My only issue with Troy is that all he'll have to do is hit a few jumpers and we'll start seeing the "Ohhh. He's so much better than Perk" threads

If he can contribute 10 minutes a game I'll be happy. But I think he can replace BBD as a PF, and he cannot play C. If people are bashin Nenad, who at least was trying to defend, wait until Troy is asked to protect the paint.

Of course, as always, I hope I'm totally wrong and somehow he shows he can play significant minutes in the playoffs. He's a Celtic.

If he can fit at all into the Celtics' team D he doesn't need to be a great post-defender in order to play at C.  Honestly, in some matchups he'll be a lot better than Davis, since he's a good 4 inches taller.
