This is hilarious.  I mean he only ruined a franchise and turned his back on them in spectacular fashion.

It would be really nice if America would name a state after Benedict Arnold too.

This guy needs to be evaluated.

You don't think LeBron gave the right answer there?

Most likely, a reporter asked him the question, he didn't bring it up.

Reporter:  "LeBron, do you think the Cavs will retire your jersey?"

LeBron:  "That's something I don't know and something I can't control. Anytime you get a jersey retired anywhere it is a tribute. I have my jersey in my high school and when that happened it was unbelievable. If that happens here, I'll be grateful."

Really, what do you want him to say in that situation?  What would a better answer to that question have been?  Sounds like he gave a great answer to me.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I agree. I have no problem with the way he answered the question. Now, if he came out and said it out without the question being asked, that's a different story. It's one of those to me.

yeah, i mean i hate lebron plenty, but we frequently take ANYTHING he says and turn it into something much much worse. he does enough foolish stuff as it is...no need to create new foolishness. seems like a very diplomatic answer to a question if you ask me.

Well, on a slightly different note Lebron did seem more humble in the post-game interviews tonight. I could actually see some maturity in the way he conducted himself.

I can't stand him because he's a Heat, but hey I like him more than I like LA.

I can't say I have something against the Miami Heat, but Lebron I can't stand and I would LOVE to see a healthy Paul Pierce and the Cetics destroy him and Heat in the playoffs(he and Kobe are far most disliked players in my book)

You're not serious are you?
The guy ruined the franchise? Turned his back on them?

How bout he gave them 7 years at 150% and the best supporting cast they could get him was Mo williams.
Only reason the city has had anything to cheer about in the last 7 years.

Can't see how he has done anything wrong here. Another bandwagon lebron bashing.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Maybe he seemed more humble because Cleveland kicked their butts?

that's pretty much what I was thinking.  Dan Gilbert ruined that franchise with his bone headed trades and signings (and that ridiculous letter).  Gund ruined the franchise when he tried to pull a fast one with the CBA and let Boozer out of his contract.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

The Cleveland Cavaliers, currently the 15th most valuable NBA franchise lost over a fourth of its current value this past off-season as a result of 2-time league MVP LeBron James' departure.

Since then, the Cavaliers have gone from finishing first place in the Eastern Conference two seasons in a row to their current position as a lottery team with the worst record in the NBA. I'm pretty sure that LeBron James is the best player that has ever put on a Cavaliers' uniform, and thus his jersey number will eventually be retired in Cleveland, no matter how much they despise him right now.

If I were the Cavs, I'd say "yes" on a quid pro quo basis.

I'd say "OK, LeBron, if and when you get inducted into the Hall of Fame, no matter what you do for the rest of your career, if you have a Cavs uni on for the Hall of Fame representation, we'll retire your jersey."

Whaddya say Lebron?

There's nothing wrong with what LeBron said.  Remember somebody asked him this, it's not like he went out of his way to say it.

Also, how did he ruin the franchise?  They sucked before he got there, and now they suck again.  Seems like he made them relevant for a few years and now they're just back where they started again.
