This article pretty much sums it up. and interesting take on rondos DNP last night. makes sense if Doc was "punishing" rondo of sorts..

as rondo goes, so do the celtics. his ability to dictate the pace of the game and set up his team-mates for easy baskets is what made the celtics so dominant in the beginning of the year. with him in a slump, we are requiring PP,RA,KG to try to do it all themselves....pierce has carried the team on his back through most of these wins, making some hard shots..they are too old to keep that up...hopefully he can get out of this slump soon and run the show once again...its the same thing how the offense basically came to a halt when we had nate starting for rondo earlier in the season..

if any of this has to do with Rondo sulking because Perk is gone, he should just look at Perk and how well he is playing in OKC. Rondo has to suck it up and be a man. I think this may have more to do with Rondo's stubbornness however, and going against Doc one of the most respected coaches in the league who helped make Rondo the player he is, is not smart.

Yep.  You almost get the idea that Perk and Rondo are both trying to prove Doc and Danny were wrong.

If there's a shred of truth to this, even in the deepest dark chasms of rondo's brain, then I want first spot in the "smack the snot out of Rondo" line.  Maybe Doc deserves that honor.

Brilliant Article. Sums up everything us fans speculated. Concurrently Singling out Rondo is counterproductive. Celtics struggle goes beyond Rondo. This team has an identity crisis. Who are the Celtics? Tough gritty team or finesse soft team?  10 games to find an identity.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
Well, don't know if Gaspar knows any better than anyone else, but it's how I felt last night when I heard he was out--he'd never miss a game because of a banged up pinky. And I thought Doc was holding him out. But I felt at the time he shouldn't have, that Rondo needed to be working with the starters pushing through this funk, and I guess I still feel that way.

Again, I want to reiterate something - if people think the team and/or Rondo are playing poorly because their friend got traded, then we have a team of mental midgets. I'm sure they were upset about it, but if they can't get over it and move on, they have no business competing for an NBA title. I think Rondo's issues are a culmination of multiple problems - injuries, stubbornness + bad decision-making on the court, and maybe some anger about Perk (though I think this is small). I think he's both physically and mentally exhausted right now. A game off could do wonders for him. I hope, at least...

If there is a shred of truth to this, then Rondo is gone in the off-season. Ainge won't tolerate this, nor should he.

The article could have been written by any of us.  Its just one mans "theory" .  I feel rondo has been playing at a lower level ALONG with ray, kg, paul, davis and krstic.  We can point a finger at doc as easily as any of our players.
work through it

ps-I cannot watch felger, not even for a minute
