Just remembered that since the O'Neals have been out and the Perk trade, Baby has been pretty much been exclusively playing center off the bench right? Baby was at his best earlier in the season when he was playing the 4, not banging around with the bigger guys, so maybe with Shaq and JO's returns we'll be seeing a more efficient and effective Baby.

maybe
but having a change of rotating
Shaq, KG and Kristic AND green
i cant see much PT for BBD
other thanmaybe 15 mpg specially during playoofs
15 seems just right for him
with scorers that makes him pass the ball.

I suspect he's been trying to be the "leader" of the 2nd unit...having been in the system the longest.  So the pecking order needs to be established again, at least with the 2nd unit, so that BBD and everyone else is aware that BBD is not the go-to scorer and offensive leader of the squad.

We'll see how that goes...

I don't see Green and Krstic playing more than 10 mins each in the big man rotation, come playoffs. That means Davis will likely be at 20+ minutes. Frankly, the way things are going, I won't be surprised if he takes all of Krstic's minutes, and plays 30 per contest.

Green has been very efficient off the bench lately but Baby is getting most of the touches with the second unit. Anyone else agree that Baby needs to take less shots and Green needs to take more? Not to mention more minutes for Green who played only 19 tonight

I agree totally.  Big Baby's shot-to-touch ratio must be tops in the entire league.  He is a black hole out there.  When he took that three pointer against Memphis last week, I came pretty close to dropping to my knees and vomiting all over the carpet.  He needs to know his role.

I agree.  We need minutes from Baby, but that he's a shoot-happy ball hog still after all his time on the team is beyond frustrating.  Green needs to be the first option in the bench defense and Baby dialed back.  Then sign and trade Baby's butt  out of here in the off-season.

Jeff Green and Glen Daivs have roughly the same usage, shot attempts per minue, and Green's assist rate is actually lower than Davis's (both are awful).

I think Baby has become a bit of a ball stopper on offense but its not like Jeff Green is some sort of great playmaker.

Well, maybe the other 4 guys around him should stop bumming around, and passing him the ball when they need a bailout shot with 5 seconds on the clock. Just an idea...

Except that most of his shots came while he was playing alongside more than 1 starter.

And to think that he's only shooting b/c the shotclock is near over is nieve.  Yes, that happens sometimes, but Davis many times either shoots when there's 10+ seconds left, or tries to back down his man when there's 15 seconds left.

To me the only thing that bothers me a lot is his love of the Jumper.  He's better slashing to the hoop or helping out on Offense by setting picks and fighting for offensive rebounds.  35% for jumpers, which are mostly wide open, is awful and means he needs to shoot down low.

I think the reason we're seeing baby play 30mpg right now is more out of the fact that hes the only big off the bench than what we'll likely see in the playoffs.

Once the oneals come back, I would expect that he'll be scaled down back to around 20mpg. playing mainly PF, and some Center

My only problem with baby is that he NEEDS to operate more in the low post, muscling his way to the basket instead of sitting outside and throwing up jumpers..The guy is taking more shots than RA, PP, KG and thats a problem...last nights score probably wouldve been higher had Baby taken less but smarter shots...
