i agree with this thread. Jeff Green is great. He's got fringe allstar potential.
He's still picking up our system and adapting to his role, but averaging 11 points in 23 minutes for the celts... 52% shooting. 44% from three. He'll average 20+ some day when the big 3 are retired.
On another team, in all likelihood, unless Danny thinks he's good enough to use a good portion of our cap-space (which will probably be less after the new CBA) on him after the lockout next season.
I like Jeff Green quite a bit, but is he really
that good? Like, cornerstone good? I'm not sure I'd have much confidence in a team on which he is the 3rd best player - and he'll probably want to be paid as if he's the 2nd best player (since he may very well be after the Big 3 retire).
Post Big-3, I think our best bet is probably just to tank for a year or two and get good draft picks. A core of Rondo + whoever is willing to come to Boston in free agency to play with Rondo isn't going to win titles. We'll need to acquire another superstar somehow and then probably draw in a third high level player because of the presence of Rondo and the superstar.
