If I was Green I'd be sick to the stomach that Eastern-European junkie is more of a go to guy on the offence.

Pretty much. Green was supposed be the center-piece of the deal yet it looks like Doc is more concerned about developing Krstic while Green is going to be used as just a bench guy to give Paul Pierce some rest.

Jeff Green is backup & will remain a backup. He'll get whatever minutes leftover from Pierce & Ray. Similar to James Posey.

Who said Marquis Daniels was better than Green? Can you quote that or are you exaggerating?

I compared Green to Marquis because I think they're similarly quiet players. I didn't say Marquis was better, and I didn't see anybody else say that either. I just don't think Jeff Green is some great offensive force. He's never shot a high percentage. Playing 40 mpg he's been a 15-5 guy. That's fine, that's admirable. But let's not pretend that the guy is a volume scorer. He's never been.

I think there's a big tendency on this board to overrate the guy you haven't seen much of (remember when everyone wanted Gabe Pruitt to play more?). It's happening now because the team is scuffling. But that doesn't mean he's a future all star.

Pretty much. Unless his production warrants otherwise.

I wouldn't put too much into the fact that while he played 40mpg he was just a 15-5 guy... I think that's a great and probably difficult thing to accomplish on a team with Westbrook and Durant who did see and will see most of the offensive plays called for them.

No it doesnt automatically mean he's a future all star but i dont think your giving Green enough credit for playing his whole career with a shoot first, shoot second, pass third point guard, and being forced to play out of position. I think that makes a huge difference

He needs to be the focus of that second group's offense.

By far the best offensive player in that group.

Baby gets 8 points from 15 attempts and Green gets 9 points from 5 attempts.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

Baby has never seen a shot he didnt like. You would think the guy was a superstar the way he shoots.

Maybe, but we haven't seen any indication in the minutes that he is playing that he is aggressive enough with the ball on offense to become the first option.

He's actually shooting a pretty good percentage for the Celtics. I don't think he's a bad player. But I haven't seen anything that makes me believe he's a focal point kind of scorer. Can you point me to any evidence that he can be that guy?

idk i wasn't really gettin that specific about him bein a number one option or our future paul pierce and all that. I was just sayin that he can be alot better than what we've seen in OKC and even what we've seen here when used properly

Ok, this is another classic overreaction thread.

Jeff Green has a few good games and now everybody is freaking out. Go check out his stats... he's playing above his head. I expect a regression to the mean shortly. (he's still pretty good though, and way better than Big Baby)

Before you tell me I'm wrong, I said the exact same thing about Krstic's offense when he started off with a couple of big games. Trust me, Green won't continue to shoot the way he's been shooting.

I just think that Green is trying not to ruffle any feathers, so he isn't taking many chances. The only way his efficiency goes down at all is if he does become the focus of the second unit and becomes a LOT more aggressive. He has been here for a while now, it's time for him to turn it up a notch. We need the aggressive Jeff Green for the playoffs.

People have their opinions about Big Baby and both sides are justified, but at least he isn't afraid to be a scorer. He doesn't hesitate. Of course it isn't always the best thing, but somebody needs to do it (especially with Nate gone now). Hopefully Jeff can eat up some of those shots.

They don't look for Green nearly enough and it is ridiculously frustrating. He is a GOOD offensive player, anyone can see this.  He can get his shot and score from anywhere.  Doc has dropped the ball on this one so far.

How many minutes did we think Pierce's backup was going to get?
