I know as the interview carries on Rondo gets a bit more serious, but his body language in the beginning that smirk of his and grin like this is all no big deal seems awful. This is from practice today.

I didn't see any kind of smirk from Rondo. He just looks really bummed out. I find no fault with his demeaner here at all. He's admitting that they all need to 'look in the mirror' and do better.

Has anyone seen any Rondo interviews where he discusses his feelings on the Perk trade? I wish the reporters would ask better questions.

If he was consulted on the trade?
If the trade changes how he feels about the team and organization?
Most importantly is it the reason for his poor performace since the trade?

I am a huge Rondo fan but I can't help but think the trade has really messed him up.

There was a recent article about Rondo from Jackie MacMullan that had some quotes on his thoughts on the Perk trade and why he was struggling:

Quote
"It's a mix and match of things," he said slowly. "I haven't been playing well. Aches and pains. And we had the trade with Perk [Kendrick Perkins].

"He's a guy I spent a lot of time with. I'm not saying that's why I'm playing bad. You just appreciate somebody more when they're gone.

"We were best friends. We're talking more now than we did when he was here. It's been tough. I know other guys have been through it, but I haven't.

"We went through everything together, right from the beginning. I missed the USA basketball camp so I could be at his wedding.

"When we were on the road, there was never any question we'd be hanging out together. It was 'What are we going to do tonight?' or 'Let's go here and there.' So now it's a little different.

"I'm not saying I'm no lost puppy. He didn't die or anything. But he's a good person."

Any kind of change requires time for adjustment.

The greater the change produces a greater impact and requires greater time to adjust.

We are still in that process.

We will still be in that process when we add Shaq, JO etc back.

TP IBleed, never saw that article.  Having heard that it seems like he's not angry, just sad.  Makes me think he'll be back soon  ;D

And yes, Rondo is our MVP, because when he stinks, everyone else on the team stinks!!

mmmmm... even though it'll never happen, imagine what this team will be like when KG stops directing/playing good D, but still get a ton of minutes.

i hate to say it, but i think when shaq and/or jo return, that is when the team (rondo) will pick up the play. think about how long we've been here searching for any sort of truth behind when they return. when it happens (next week or the week after), there is ognna be so much excitement, not just in the fans, but in the players too. especially with shaq. he'll get everyone on the team fired up, especially rondo (im sure rondo misses doing some of those lobs, or just having shaq in the post if nothing else is working). that will be the turning point.

it looks probable we're getting the 3rd seed. that might be better. i think we'd rather play the sixers than the knicks.

Smirk is at 12 seconds.  It's almost like he thinks this is funny. >:(

Oh, and I believe Doc is talking about Rondo too.  Tommy was lighting into him during the game.  He kept telling him to stop dribbling the ball and get into the offense.  Then when Delonte came in Tommy says "well let's see what Delonte does", after being frustrated with what Rondo was doing out there.

I can't figure out why Rondo is playing like this. ???  Maybe they should have traded him with his buddy Perk and brought back Westbrook.

I think he's a bit amused by all of the "sky is falling" attention to the last few games.

I imagine it seems a bit amusing to a team as confident and experienced as the starting unit.  And Rondo is still pretty young/cocky as well...he likely doesn't share the reporters' doubts.
