Everyone is also forgetting that Leon couldn't get minutes on the worst team in the league, that set the mark for futility in consecutive loses. The only minutes he got were garbage time, and he couldn't even get those!

who knew that Murphy's ability to rebound would evaporate so quickly.

His rebounding hasn't disappeared.  In the short time he's played, he still has more than 9 rebounds per 36 minutes.  He still has a defensive rebounding percentage a shade over 20%.  After KG, he's the team's second-best rebounding big.  It's his ability to hit a three that has completely evaporated.
Granted I haven't seen all of Murphy's minutes, but from what I've seen (which is well over half his playing time), he hasn't impressed me as someone that can make an impact on the defensive boards---certainly not at the level he did while at Indiana.

He just seems to be out of position most of the time and not boxing anyone out.

Not to defend Leon, but it's usually not the case that the worst teams in the league put the best players on the court. Usually it's players that they are trying to showcase, develop, or tank with.
