Yeah, where are my Powe supporters out there?  It's been so long, but how about the Memphis game?

Powe:  13 points, 5-6shooting, 1 ast and just 17 minutes   +12
BBD:    12 points, 5-11shooting, 1ast and 24 minutes             -2

i was at work and I missed the game so would like to hear what you think.
I will never get tired of the Powe vs Baby talk :)

I'm a huge Powe guy.  He is one of my favorites in the league.  I would love for him to be on the C's.  But I can clearly see that Davis is a much better all around player at this point.

I have stopped comparing Powe and Davis in my mind, but I was sure comparing Powe vs Murphy.  Out of all the new guys, all of them are on the soft side.  I love Leon's physicality.  You can't have enough of that.

I agree.  what counted against Powe and in Murphy's favor is health and height which is what the C's needed desperately in a big man.  Murphy wins on both counts.

who knew that Murphy's ability to rebound would evaporate so quickly.

Also that this was his third double digit scoring game of the season.

I love Powe, and I am starting to think Danny made a mistake with not making him a priority over Murphy (prove me wrong Murph!), but he is damaged goods at this point, and just does not have the explosiveness he had before the knee injury.  Without that explosiveness, he is a borderline NBA player unfortunately, even though he did have a nice game back against his former team.

Blount had one big game against us after being traded...skipping around the court...but had a rather quiet career after that.  Let's not take too much away from a one-game sample against a former team.

Powe's a great guy by all accounts, but his NBA career is pretty much over unless his work ethic and character are enough to secure him a series of minimum one-year deals as a practice body and good locker room guy.

Powe played well but a couple of his shots were "throw the ball towards the rim and pray" shots while he was in the process of falling down after being fouled.

His rebounding hasn't disappeared.  In the short time he's played, he still has more than 9 rebounds per 36 minutes.  He still has a defensive rebounding percentage a shade over 20%.  After KG, he's the team's second-best rebounding big.  It's his ability to hit a three that has completely evaporated.

That, and his ability to rotate correctly, or be in the right place on offense.

Although, I honestly can't attest to whether he could ever do that.

I miss Leon. If healthy, I'd take him over BBD. Sadly, though, he's had too many knee issues. Pier will always be pimpin' and ramming it low in my eyes, though.

Leon made some of the most incredible shots I've ever seen last game. There's no chance he makes those on a regular basis. Plus, he will never remain healthy. I think we made the right decision keeping BBD and letting Leon walk.

Become Legendary.

I am still perfectly happy they didn't bring back Powe.

I like him as a player.  Just like I like Davis as a player.

I hate Davis and Powe on the floor together.

Leon versus Davis was always a bit fascinating, because one could do everything passable but nothing very well. The other was elite at exactly two things and did nothing other wise.
