This was lost when DWest got hurt and RR came in to not run the offense.

Yeah Delonte's 2 points and 1 assist in 18 minutes really helped us out. Our offense was crap all game, with or without Rondo. Ray and Pierce were both bricking up 3 pointers for the last 6+ minutes of the game.

This is not good. This is when we should be beating teams like the Bobcats-down the stretch. I'm still trying to stay positive, but I don't know if we can come up strong in the playoffs like we did last year, much less finish the job.
I've said it before during this run and I'll say it again-D?c, where's the O?

Would Rondo be tradeable at this point if KG and Pierce retire after this year?  I believe he has been a huge locker room problem since the trade.

lol what? Any evidence of that?

Not really, it just feels like he hasn't been the same ever since.

Well, "locker room problem" sounds like he's consciously tried to disrupt the flow of the offense. On a related note, Perk is 5-5 tonight for OKC  :)

Most unforgivable loss of the season.

How can you give 30 points to the BOBCATS in the 4th quarter?

I was literally laughing all game at how bad the Bobcats are until they kicked the Celtics ass in the 4th quarter.

This is just pathetic, so upsetting.

I feel the same way.  I know it sounds irrational -- Perk was injured, and wasn't a star -- but I really do think Danny's tinkering killed this team.

However, after last year's Finals run, I'm not closing the door on any possible ending to this season.  We could get swept in the first round, or we could cruise to the Finals.
The way the season ended last year, I really thought Miami would beat them.  Playoffs are a completely different story, but what bothers me is the lack of toughness plus the new guys really aren't meshing well.  Plus now is the time they need their PG to play well and run the show and Rondo has frankly sucked for about the past month.

The chemistry of this team is all messed up right now.  But here's news for everyone.  Even if they hadn't made the Perkins trade this would have happened.  People forget how pathetic their bench was the month before the trade.  Unfortunately it looks like the trade didn't work but things starting going south when Marquis got hurt.  That messed everything else up.

Big 3 are tired.  Rondo and BBD are playing horribly and they're getting nothing out of their new guys.  That's the recipe for all this garbage.

Pretty much.  This team is seriously flawed and frankly too old.  That would be the case whether or not we had made the trade.  It's easy to scapegoat Nenad and say things would be different if we had Perk, but I seriously doubt it.

I think our chemistry is SERIOUSLY messed up since the trade. That's just what I've seen. We weren't playing 50-50 basketball before that like last spring.

They could have  easily won this game.

It is a shame to fans paying for tickets or just plain tv coverage just to see a mediocre performance. That is so so unprofessional on their part. Do Doc and the Big 3 even think about the paying public? Or realize that they should at least make them happy even after a loss? There are losses we can take because we foresee positivity thereafter - even the last year's game 7 loss.

If we lost this game utilizing the bench for more exposure so as to give us more depth in the remaining games and to rest the veterans I could have been ok with it.

Doc could have been more sensitive to the watching fans. I take this against him. He could have just played those eager-for-minutes bench guys who would at least play their hearts out.

Yeah he hasn't played great, but I don't see how that relates to him being a locker room cancer.

  • Rondo = Good
The worst part about all of this...is that we were a championship team this season. We were ready to go all the way. Trophy? Probably had our name engraved in it already. No one could beat us in a 7 game series and everyone knew it..

And now this. If we sucked this bad all season I wouldn't even be upset right now. But the dismantling of this team and the fall from grace...is really just hard to swallow.

I need several drinks.

I think it's just too easy to take this stance.  This convenient idea of "chemistry" being the magical ingredient doesn't really make sense, but it's easier to fall back on that then simply accepting that maybe this team is too old, or seriously flawed.  This team looked very good through the first third, first half or so of the season . . . and that was without Perk.  They looked good for a few games with Perk, but then he got injured so we didn't really get to see the ups and downs that would have inevitably come if Perk had stayed in a Celtic uniform.

What would the excuse be if the trade hadn't been made and the team were still going through these doldrums?  Because honestly, the things that have been killing us in these recent games aren't things that Perk would have helped with.  Unless Perk's presence would have made Rondo play quicker and smarter with a better shooting touch and thereby jumpstart the offense . . . then perhaps Perk really would have been the key.  I just don't buy it.

I think this is the most embarrassing loss this season. There's just no excuse losing an 11 point lead in the 4th quarter, in your home court, to a depleted Charlotte team. That was just bad basketball. KG said that they told Doc never to call them "soft" again. Well,I guess they better start thinking about how they're currently playing. If this is how they show up after a bold statement like that then something is really wrong. I'm not giving up on the C's, but their performance of late just sucks. And the worst feeling in the world is trying to keep the faith on something that continually disappoints. I hope they turn this around real soon. Don't stop believing...

That's what I meant.  Before tonight, it seemed like a lot of plays would start a little late and end with Rondo either bricking a jumpshot or blowing a layup.  Maybe it's just me though.

If you think about it, this all makes sense.

Celtics seem to always lose games where the other team is missing their best player (most recently Grizzlies without Gay).

Now for 2 losses and 2 wins on their road trip.

Back to backs are a nightmare for the Celtics.
