I stand corrected ::)

I also just took this picture out the window.

The Jermaine I saw this season, even before his knee acted up, was hardly this great defensive presence/rebounding machine. He will be an upgrade over Krstic (whose stock continues to crash) but let's not have unrealistic expectations.  Baby will probably get more minutes at the 5 than Jermaine O'Neal in the play-offs.

I really worry with our ability to match up against either the Bulls or the Lakers. Even with both O'Neals back.

Even though he'll be back... it's hard to think he's fully recovered from knee surgery this quickly or that he's in any bit of shape to really contribute. I say it'll be 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs before we see anything from him.

Danny on WEEI right now, talking about JO. One of the things he said:

Quote
I've watched Jermaine O'Neal work out, and he looks better than he has all year.

He also said that JO should be back by the SA game next week.

The knee surgery he had wasn't a major procedure.  There's no reason he can't come back and be effective on the defensive end for about 20 minutes per game.  I really hope he can find a rhythm and stay on the court though - a healthy Jermaine O'Neal can do all of the things Krstic can do, plus he can defend and rebound.
